If I could give this place 100 stars I would! We originally booked one night in the Calabria suite. We had such an incredible experience that we ended up booking an additional night in the Rome room. The ambiance throughout this hotel is an experience in itself! We were greeted with soft music playing throughout common areas as soon as we entered the foyer. The restoration of this building is top notch and the accommodations are lux. We ate at Rocco's - every bite was delicious, service was impeccable, and atmosphere was great. We shared a bottle of wine at the bar prior to dinner, and my husband was able to enjoy a cigar and a cocktail in the cigar bar also. The hotel is in close proximity to all the fun downtown attractions, but there is no need to leave as the hotel is an attraction in itself and a total experience. We travel frequently and our stay at The Vellagio is at the top! We enjoyed meeting Eddie and his sister, and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Top notch and a true value for such incredible luxury!
My wife and I absolutely love staying here. Wonderful rooms, fantastic food, and the 1864 club is the perfect relaxing way to end the night. The Villagio is at the top of our list for any stays in Pittsburgh.

This hotel could be very fab with some refinements to customer service. My boyfriend and I booked the Amalfi room to rest for an evening during a long road trip. First of all, the aesthetic is beautiful and very charming throughout! Spacious room and truly antique - you can tell they tried to keep as much original as possible. The free parking is a plus and was easy. There isn’t really a front desk or check in area so it was a little awkward walking in, but no biggie. We were greeted by a gentleman who was one of the partners, but not introduced to any staff which made things confusing later when we needed service. The Amalfi room is very nice. Spacious. Fab vintage bathroom with a clawfoot tub, though it needs refinishing. Bed was comfy, quality sheets, but the loveseat was very very uncomfortable, you sit and can feel the metal springs. Small but good enough TV and separate room with wardrobe. Beautiful gas fireplace! After returning to the hotel from dinner, we were super tired from driving and just wanted to relax. Unfortunately we had issues with both the tv and the water, which were both addressed but I had to run back and forth downstairs to the bar in search of help. This was frustrating, considering I tried calling to no answer, and I had to keep changing out of my pjs to run downstairs. One of those times I ordered a glass of wine at the bar while I waited for a manager, which I couldn’t charge to our room, inconvenient. Overall we enjoyed our stay, but would be a 5 star situation with more streamlined service and a few updates.
🌟 Review: Villagio PGH – Where Pittsburgh History Meets Exquisite Charm 🌟 If you are visiting Pittsburgh, especially for a game, you simply must stay at Villagio PGH. This is more than just a place to sleep—it’s an experience! From the moment you step inside, you are enveloped in an atmosphere of exquisite charm and history. The high ceilings give the space a grand, airy feel, but it's the little details that truly captured my heart. Hearing the gentle creaks in the wooden floors as you walk is like listening to the building tell its story; it adds a layer of authentic, historic character that you just don't find in modern hotels. Location, Location, Location! For any sports fan, the proximity is unbeatable. Villagio PGH is incredibly close to Acrisure Stadium, making it the absolute perfect home base for a Pittsburgh Steelers game day. Beyond the historic beauty and perfect location, the amenities truly make it a standout: Secure & Convenient: The gated parking provides incredible peace of mind in the city. A Sanctuary: The nice courtyard is a beautiful, peaceful spot to unwind, sip coffee, or reflect after a busy day of exploring. Villagio PGH seamlessly blends the elegance of the past with the convenience needed for a modern stay. If you’re looking for a spot with genuine soul and unbeatable access to the best of Pittsburgh, this is it. It’s a very nice, charming, and powerful recommendation! #VillagioPGH #Pittsburgh #AcrisureStadium #HistoricStay #Steelers #TravelReview #PittsburghHotels
The location is at the heart of Pittsburgh very close to the Acrisure Stadium. We got to the hotel and had no way of getting in until we finally ran into someone at the bar that reached out by phone to someone else to get our room door code. Definitely not a room for wanting privacy or any type of reduced noise. We stayed at the first room once you go up the stairs. The bed was big and comfy but, the window facing the stairs has no curtain so anyone can look in as they go down the stairs. Dinner gets noisy and you hear everything from dinner conversations, the bar, floors creaking, people walking and stomping until come midnight when it starts dying down. The front door stays unlocked so random people will knock at your door because there’s no greeter at the front. Parking is horrible especially because the restaurant valet uses the same parking hotel guests are to use even though there’s not too much parking room. Don’t think I will be staying here again it was not a good night sleep.
