Our experience as a whole was great. Checkin was easy even when checking in early. The lady at the desk was absolutely amazing in her personality and helpfulness. The valet driver that was on was very friendly. Location wise this was a great place if your doing ford field. It's right down the road. It's also close proximity to the people mover and restaurants as well. Beds were super comfy all was quiet everything was clean. Checkout was easy. It's not anything special as far as room set up bathroom items and such. Pretty basic. You are paying for the location not any luxury. Not a fan of having to pay to have your car parked as that's an extra 55 bucks added on to the room price but that is unlimited come and go as you please. The breakfast is also extra you can pay for all you can eat for 17 and some change or by the individual order. It was your basic hotel fare nothing fancy. Everything is cashless.
Our stay was okay. Good downtown location in Greektown. The valet service was friendly although it hurts to pay $55/night just to see the car in the surface lot outside our window. The bathtub had texture on the bottom that was grey which might be clean, might not be. Our bedding had a lot of loose threads. The breakfast was a total rip-off, $36 for two people at the buffet with such a small selection that would be free at other Hiltons, and the server was kind of pushy and rude. Overall, wouldn’t stay again.

My short stay at the Hilton Garden Inn Downtown Detroit was exactly what I was looking for! It was close and convenient to Ford Field while I attended Chris Brown and Usher concert. It alleviated the stress of having to park at the venue and maneuver through crowds of people. It was also close to hotels and nightlife without needing a ride. I appreciated 12pm check out time. The bed was comfortable. It would have been nice if at least breakfast was included in the price. My only dislike was that the tv didn’t seem to work. It’s like they want you out spending money lol. I was told to power it off and on to reset it and get it working. Overall, I would stay here again.
Honestly, I had a great stay at the Hilton Garden Inn Detroit Downtown. The location is perfect and really convenient, and the hotel itself was nice and quiet. The staff was always in a good mood and very friendly, which made the experience even better. The room was comfortable and pretty spacious. I also really enjoyed the breakfast, it was very good. Overall, a really great experience. I would definitely stay here again!
Rooms great, service good, location great, parking is a rip off. The only reason I chose this hotel was to go to a Tiger's game. I checked in late Friday to go to a day game on Saturday. Well they charge you $55 a night to park which is fine, but if you want to go to a day game the next day when you check out they charge you another $55 dollars. If you are charged by the night this is not fair. I will not use this hotel again just for that reason.
