Dr. Corinthia McLeroy, MD MDVIP

Although Dr. McLeroy has only recently become my doctor following Dr. Lisa Clark’s retirement, I am extremely impressed by her. She takes the time to listen, thoroughly explains my health options, and truly prioritizes my well-being. She is raising the bar on healthcare, and her personalized approach makes me feel confident in my care. I also want to highlight Lori, her office assistant, who is exceptional—she responds promptly to any request and should be the gold standard for what a medical assistant can do. Together, they make an excellent team, and I highly recommend them both.

I am currently a patient of Dr. McLeroy, and she has been my primary care physician for the past four years. Before her, I was under the care of Dr. Allan, whom I adored because she was so attentive and kind. When Dr. Allan transitioned into Executive Practice, I found myself scrambling to find a new primary doctor. Dr. McLeroy came highly recommended, and I’m grateful for that. She is kind, thoughtful, and consistently attentive to my needs and concerns. She has worked with me to get my health on track, and I’m genuinely pleased with the level of care she provides. I’ve seen comments about her becoming a concierge doctor, which requires a monthly or annual fee. I understand the sticker shock—it surprised me too, and it can leave a bitter taste. But in fairness, it’s incredibly hard to find a doctor who truly listens, especially one who takes your concerns and fears seriously. As a woman of color, I’ve had far too many experiences where my symptoms, feelings, and worries were dismissed. You don’t need multiple visits to realize when a doctor isn’t hearing you. That’s why having a physician who listens matters so much. I also struggle with the cost of maintaining care under a concierge model, but I can’t deny that Dr. McLeroy is a good doctor. People often assume all doctors are wealthy, but that depends on the specialty and the system they work in. The medical industry as a whole can feel like a racket—patients are charged for everything, and that’s not unique to Dr. McLeroy. So while we all have the right to express our frustrations, I think it’s important to acknowledge the positives as well as the negatives. Sincerely, JB
