This place was beautiful. We parked on the road at the top and walked the trail down. The trail is a little steep. I can see where people with knee or hip injuries may have a problem walking down. But the trail is worth it. The structure itself is really interesting. It was covered in graffiti but nice if u like that kind of art.
The hike to the Witch's Castle is steep in some areas, but be aware some areas are full of imbedded rocks and can be tricky navigating if your not used to hikes. Other than that, it's worth the extra time going there and back. A lot of massive fallen trees,brooks, boulders, ferns and moss. All the things I expected of Oregon.
The trail offers fresh air and beautiful scenery, with lush greenery and a gently flowing stream—a perfect place to breathe deeply and recharge. The castle ruins appear about halfway along the hike and have a wonderfully artistic atmosphere. The most interesting part is the collection of small objects people have left on the windowsills, creating a unique little art display. Somehow, everything looks charming, harmonious, and right at home there. Those who prefer a quieter experience may want to avoid weekends and holidays, as parking can be limited and the trail tends to get crowded.

Beautiful, short hike if you access it from near the bird sanctuary. Nothing like hiking in this gorgeous, old forest with a creek running next to the trail and coming around to see this almost surreal house covered in grafitti. Definitely a must see if you have a bit of spare time.
Nice trail for small strolls. The parking is limited. The restrooms are portable but clean. Just make sure you bring wipes because there are no sinks to wash your hands. The walk is very short to the “castle”. Really it’s just a small broken down brick building. I think they call a witches castle because it has a bunch of graffiti on it. There is a really big mansion if you go on another trail. If you go from the witches castle to the mansion, that is about a 1.5 to 2 mile walk. The art is beautiful. It may be crowded on some days. There is a small river that runs through. It may be slippery on some days due to the rain or the cold weather. This is suitable for ages 10 and up if you go with younger children, this may be hard because the walk is a half mile to a mile walk. It’s really just a house. The the one thing that makes it extra interesting. Is that art in the graffiti. If you enjoy a long stroll with a spooky feeling vibe, this place is perfect for you.
