Close to the airport and free shuttle. The wait for a shuttle was a little longer than we'd expected. The driver could have made a full loop to and from the airport a couple of times in the amount of time we waited. When it did arrive, it had the name of 3 properties on the side of the shuttle. We were a party of 4. When we exited the shuttle, there was still a woman on the shuttle who the driver had thought was with us. She had to tell him she needed to be dropped at another hotel. The driver acted surprised and I guess he ended up taking her but it was weird the way she seemed to have to sort of "argue" the driver into this. Maybe he was just zoned out and didn't understand what she was asking for. I felt bad for her, alarm was rising in her as the driver seemed to be just considering it. I was impressed when she said back, "it says the name (of her hotel) on the side of the van!" (This confusion could have been added to based on the fact there are 2 "Hampton Inn & Suites Charlotte Airport" locations. Not sure how to resolve this but something needs to be done to make it SUPER CLEAR if there's not a free shuttle to the other one, or the shuttle is different than this one. It seems misleading if one has a free shuttle and one does not and they're the same name. But I don't know if that's where the confusion is coming from.) Besides shuttle guy being a little - idk - off, and an underperforming free breakfast, the stay was nice, clean, everyone was polite. (The next morning the shuttle driver was perfect!) This is one of those hotels that is attached to another hotel. And by attached I mean it's exactly the same building, the breakfast is in the same place, elevators are shared, but there is a carpet seam you walk over and then you are in the "other" hotel. Why they don't just have the less expensive less fancy rooms all in the same hotel but just charge less for them is something I couldn't tell you. Hope that branding is making big bucks for them, because it only adds confusion for the guests. They have 2 entrances with 2 signs and 2 lobbies that go to the same elevators which open on the same halls. The 3 hot breakfast food choices were exactly the same as the other Hilton we stayed at - unappetizing to the point I couldn't make myself try. Breakfast breakdown: Denver omelettes instead of plain cheese ones, and the green and red pepper squares cooked into it just somehow made it all look like garbage. Chicken sausage patties - were they undercooked? Who knows, because who knows what large flat chicken sausage patties are supposed to look like? They were floppy and in so much liquid. Breakfast potatoes looked like the flavor would have been entirely obscured by the enormous amount of herbs poured on, which like the omelets, unfortunately ended up making it look like trash. Unlike our other Hilton stay, instead of oatmeal, they had a huge tureen of grits. There was a waffle station but they had no plain waffle batter, they only had red velvet waffle batter. They DID have a really cool Jetson's - like (IYKYK!) pancake maker that was fun to use and watch, lol. Kind of mesmerizing. The little pancakes it made turned out good, too. Still enough items to make do with bagels, toast, yogurt, & milk. It's just, the hot items - so close, and yet so far. Seemed wasteful. C'mon Hilton, do you want people to actually eat the food or is it just window dressing? The breakfast yuck items, the slightly strange shuttle driver experience, and the branding confusion wasn't a big deal at all, but just can't quite give all 5 stars due to it. I still would recommend. 👍

The hotel itself was nice enough… I hate the parking situation that is becoming a common thing at a lot of hotels. PMC Parking (with the QR code) is such a pain! When I’m traveling for work, working long days… the last thing I want is another task at the end of my day and another expense to have to itemize on my expense reports. Just get rid of PCM and directly bill the parking. Also, this isn’t a location that would’ve charged for parking a few years ago. If it wasn’t for PCM I’d rate the hotel a 4+… I give PCM a “0”
Pleasantly surprised at how clean and new this hotel is. I only stayed for one night on a Monday. It was more expensive than it stated on my google search when I got there and booked the room. It was 169.00 for the King room. I've paid much more and been disappointed. We left too early to have breakfast but the room was spacious, clean, good linens, bed was a little firm but comfortable, small fridge and nice to have the couch. Bathroom very spacious, large shower and super clean. I appreciate the small ledge in the shower for shaving legs and the full size products in the shower. I hate opening all those little bottles. I would have given 5 stars but I really like to have a bathrobe so that was a bummer...also making guests pay for parking on an app seemed like a ridiculous money grab. But convenient location, it only took 8 minutes to drive to rental car return at airport. If I have to fly out of Charlotte again, I would definitely come back.
I actually did not get a chance to stay at this Hampton Inn, so my review is completely based on the customer service I received. I booked my stay thru Expedia prepaid. We arrived at Charlotte airport very late at night after a VERY long day of flying and I called for the shuttle. No problem, 10 minutes. Waited (it was VERY COLD) outside and about 15 minutes later a shuttle that said "Hampton Inn" on the side showed up. We jumped in and had a pleasant ride to the hotel. Well, guess what? We got on the wrong shuttle. That was on us and our bad but being extremely tired and cold we just didn’t realize it. Called the hotel and let them know and asked what we could do. They could have cared less. The only answer was, we do not do pickups. I asked if we could transfer the reservation and was told no. The desk clerk at the Hampton we were at called us a Lyft and sent us back to the airport. He said that was all he was allowed to do; we were grateful for that at least. Back at the airport we called for the shuttle again and asked for clear instructions on which shuttle to get on. Again, we were told 10 minutes. Waited 20 minutes, no shuttle. Freezing at this point, I went into the airport and changed into warmer clothes. Called and asked to cancel our reservation and was again told no since it was booked with Expedia. Which I know to be bull since Expedia just calls the hotels and asks them to cancel. Hampton Inn could have just cancelled it for me. Ended up booking with someone else and got picked up in a timely manner. Interestingly, we did finally see the correct shuttle show up. We had seen a couple of different Hampton Inn shuttles stop and the drivers of those shuttles asked the people what Hampton Inn they were staying at. Bottom line, it was our mistake, but Hampton Inn Lake Pointe could have at least tried to help. We have several more overnights in Charlotte in the next couple of months, but we will for sure not be staying at Hampton Inn Lake Pointe.
As a Hampton Inn/Hilton Honours member I was thoroughly pleased with my stay at Hampton Inn & Suites Charlotte Airport Lake Pointe. I got in at a very late hour like after 12 am and needed to be back at the airport for 7 am so I needed a convenient location and this clicked all the boxes! The free shuttle service was a bonus and efficient. The late evening/early morning front office staff were very courteous and helpful. I would strongly recommend 👌
