This was such a fun aquarium! I was surprised with how many exhibits, lots to see and learn. In addition we decided to eat there, the food was amazing! I ordered a Cajun dish with craw fish, shrimp and a andouille sausage. It was a little spicy for me but I am more sensitive than some! My mother had a battered fish fry, it was also delicious. My daughter had baked shrimp, they were hot and fresh. A very awesome atmosphere with fish tanks behind the tables.
I love exploring places with my girlfriend. She's awesome. And i enjoyed the Denver aquarium, the reason for the 3 stars was i think mostly because I went with such high expectations. The place is a bit old, and dated. I guess I expected just... more? Better? I'd say for a date, its ok. Its still enjoyable, just dont expect to be blown away. Great place to bring young kids to though :) all the kids we saw there were so happy and excited!

The aquarium lets you be a little kid again and is even great to bring your littles too as well. Typical length of a visit for us has been between 1 to 2 hours then another hour or so at the gift shop and restaurant. Even though the cost is $28 or so dollars it’s worth the price of admission. However, if you see multiple buses parked at the entrance you should probably go straight to the restaurant and have a drink or two to let the interior exhibit’s crowd spread out. There are tons of fish to be seen from common place to tropical. There is even a friendly and curious otter towards the beginning to welcome you on your journey. The tiger exhibit while great in theory has been a dud for us, in six or so trips they have only been active for one. So do not base your entire experience or desire on this one animal. For me the shark exhibit is the best and if they sold cocktails inside I could sit there for hours and watch them and the sawfish play. Our grandson loved the petting exhibit with the stingrays. For an extra $4.50 you can even get three fish to feed them. The price may seem exorbitant but the look of pure terror on the child’s face makes it a steal. Parking is simple and the walk is short, a great place to beat the heat in the summer and warm up on a frigid winter day.
We had a super fun time here for a very reasonable price. Both the fresh water and salt water fish were fun to see, though if we were to go again I suggest going in the morning. We went around 5:30pm so that we could dine in their restaurant afterwards—But a lot of the animals weren’t as active (like the tigers). The restaurant was a fun experience. We were sat near the right side of the restaurant near the fish tanks (tight seating/chairs kept getting stuck on the carpet). We also got to see a little mermaid show!! Pretty good food selection, though it felt a little wrong to eat seafood right in front of the fish lol. Alcoholic drinks were pricey, but tasty. We also got desert, which is usually my favorite part of dining out—this was probably the worst part. We got the creme brûlée to-go, and the cream part seriously looked like and had the texture of wet cat food—super unappealing to eat. Everything else was great.
We visited the Denver Aquarium for company Christmas party and brought the family — it was such a great experience. The space was well-organized for an event, the atmosphere was fun without feeling chaotic, and there was plenty for both adults and kids to enjoy. The exhibits were engaging, and everything felt clean and well-maintained. What really stood out was how family-friendly the whole experience was. It worked perfectly as a company event while still being genuinely enjoyable for kids. Highly recommend the Denver Aquarium for events, celebrations, or a family outing.
