What a wonderful find we were fortunate to experience. The hotel recently changed management and when we return we'll know if the standards continue. The staff was clearly trained in service and satisfaction. Very attentive and not lacking in caring. The one issue we experienced really bright a slight damper on our visit to Houston. We tried really hard to schedule a spa experience located on the property however, we eventually have up. We arrived on Wednesday, the spa isn't open on Wednesday, and we're informed by the front desk that they would help us to schedule a time on Thursday. We realized late in the afternoon that we had not booked so we called the front desk from dinner. The front desk transferred is to the spa so we could leave a message however, we were concerned for availability. We called back and the front desk put us on hold for 10 minutes and then hung up. We stopped at the desk on our return to ask for assistance in booking and the clerk told us he couldn't help. I asked for the hotel manager on duty and was told there is not a manager on staff in the evening. We didn't look to complain further as we chalked it up to being an experience and something we'll take into account should we return to this hotel. Retardant and bar services were truly great and the rooms are pretty nice. If it hadn't been for the desk clerk, Greg S., having been so unhelpful, this would have been a 5-star review. He clearly needs to consider the position he occupies and who he represents while on duty. All of the staff went out of their way to make us comfortable, except one.

We will start with the good. The valet staff were nice and welcoming. The check-in staff was friendly and nice. John, our bellman was AMAZING. We loved him. Super nice and friendly and inviting. The bar staff were horrible. We came in from a day of travel in jeans and t-shirts and we were ignored. All three bartenders waited on the men in suits and the ladies in dresses, but ignored us. The shower took over 30 minutes to get warm enough to shower in. The shower head sprayed water everywhere except down. The room is more spacious than a run of the mill hotel, but basically the same thing you get anywhere. Not worth the money. And I’m pretty sure it was a staff member who stole my phone. Overall, decent enough place. Keep your phone and electronics locked up, they will disappear. And if you like hot showers, stay somewhere else.
My beautiful girlfriends and I had a lovely time enjoying tea time at the St Regis hotels. Service was impeccable. The room had cozy settings, sofas, coffee tables, a spectacular round table for the six of us. The china was dainty and we all felt special as we shared various teas offered, tasty finger sandwiches and unique tarts. They provided a talented harp musician that set the perfect ambiance. Valet service was quality and inexpensive. Overall our visit was fabulous. We look forward to another afternoon tea time together.
⭐️⭐️⭐️ (3 stars) This review is specifically for the St. Regis afternoon tea experience, not for the hotel stay itself. A friend and I went for afternoon tea earlier this year, and we are both very serious tea people. I’ve had high tea at several high-end hotels, including other St. Regis locations, the St. Regis Atlanta, and the Waldorf Astoria in Las Vegas, etc., so I came in with a solid frame of reference. In comparison, the Houston St. Regis afternoon tea felt underwhelming. The biggest opportunity for improvement is presentation. For an experience at this price point and caliber, the trays and overall visual execution could be elevated significantly. Unfortunately, the food itself was also just okay. Not terrible, but not memorable, and certainly not on par with what I’ve experienced at comparable properties. That said, the service was genuinely excellent. The staff was attentive, warm, and professional throughout, and the tea service itself was generous and not limited, which I appreciated. I know the St. Regis does themed teas, especially for children, which may be part of the focus, but for guests seeking a refined, traditional afternoon tea experience, there is room to raise the bar. With stronger presentation and more thoughtful food offerings, this could easily become a standout. Three stars for great service and unlimited tea, with hope that the culinary and presentation aspects evolve to match the St. Regis name.
Had a wonderful stay at the St. Regis Houston. The rooms are beautifully updated and look absolutely spot-on—modern, clean, and very comfortable. Customer service was truly top-notch from start to finish; every staff member was attentive, professional, and genuinely welcoming. The overall experience felt luxurious without being stuffy. Highly recommend for anyone looking for an upscale stay in Houston.
