The Cleveland Zoo is awesome I have been going on and off for years. Today July 2026 is the first time in over 6 years and I noticed some things were still the same. New attractions and the Asian lantern festival going on what a pleasant surprise. If you have 15 minutes or so I recommend the 4d movie so fun and interactive. The carousel was fun as well with quite the variety of fun things and pit stops. Fun for the whole family easily spend several hours its a blast.
One of my favorite locations in all of Cleveland or just Ohio in general. Exhibits look really well designed, food is good, and the tram ride to the aquarium reminds me of Disney World. The recent Asian festival made the zoo look really pretty and gave more of a reason to keep coming back.

Had the best time at the Cleveland metropark zoo with my grandma for her birthday, we rented a giraffe scooter and zoomed off to see all the animals we wanted, from elephants to koalas and even got to fulfill my grandma's lifelong dream of feeding a giraffe by hand! It was such a majestic experience for everyone involved and I would highly recommend for everyone, young and elderly! The whole park is beautiful and easy to get around, food was a lil expensive but delicious. All the workers were helpful and made our day the best ever. Will absolutely come back with more friends!
I grew up on this zoo and love it. The staff are very friendly and pretty knowledgeable. There's alot of stuff for kids to do and they've been upgrading all the animal enclosures for years. This visit they were renovating the Rainforest building which is supposed to be completed by the end of July 2026. When they host the events and Asian Lantern fest those are my favorite times to visit.
Yeah, we got to see a few "big" animals, but the amount of enclosures that were empty was very disappointing. The photos I posted are about the only animals that we really got to see. The rainforest is under construction, multiple paths within the zoo were closed, multiple animal enclosures were closed or in need of serious repair. It has gone way down hill from previous visits and at times it felt like a little weird, being the only ones around in areas with zero animals and so much junk around. Like we weren't supposed to be at the zoo at all. Ladders, caution tape, bins stacked, all of this in main areas. We won't be back anytime soon, and I won't be surprised when it closes for good within the next 5-10 years.
