Such a wonderful art museum! All eons of art represented from ancient to modern. Our Grandkids loved it....something for everyone. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Best thing is there is no entry fee. Also has a wonderful inside restaurant that is truly outstanding. One could spend several days here trying to take it all in.
An exceptional world class museum and one of the standout cultural attractions in Cleveland. The fact that it offers free admission makes it even more impressive. Inside, you’ll find everything from ancient artifacts to modern masterpieces, including remarkable displays of armor, along with iconic works by Picasso, Van Gogh, and Andy Warhol, which together create a truly memorable journey through art history. The atrium is especially stunning, spacious, bright, and beautifully designed, it immediately sets a welcoming tone for the visit. The museum as a whole feels open and peaceful, with elegant architecture and thoughtfully arranged galleries that make it easy to spend hours exploring.

There’s nothing like it - you could spend days wandering through galleries and never see it all…and it’s free! There are periodically special exhibits with a ticket charge, but they’re always more than worth it (e.g. the current Italian fashion exhibit and the recent Takashi Murakami installation). You’ll find it all here - old masters, impressionists, ancient sculpture…plus a lovely atrium, restaurant, gift shop, and attached parking.
by far my favorite museum I've ever been to. it's absolutely stunning inside, do not expect the typical white wall experience, the building is historical as well and the architecture is just beautiful. and admission is free! there is a section you can purchase tickets for but the rest of the museum is free for all. will always recommend this museum, personally I would say to set aside a good 3-4 hours to truly soak it in
We only had about an hour to visit The Cleveland Museum of Art, so we focused on a few highlights. Even that short visit was impressive. We checked out the armor and sword collections, the Egyptian galleries, and a really fun interactive area where you can simulate creating art. The museum itself is beautiful. The welcome building connects to the main museum through a huge covered courtyard that feels very open and welcoming. Admission is free, which is incredible for a museum of this quality. Parking was $14 and easy. The natural history museum is also right next door, so this area would be perfect for spending an entire day exploring. We were also impressed to learn that the museum is considered one of the richest art museums in the U.S. Even with our quick visit, the depth of the collection was clear. We definitely wish we had more time to explore the Asian art galleries and the rest of the museum. Next time we’re in Cleveland, we’ll plan to spend much longer here.
