After building our home with Design Homes (we got our keys on 1 July), I can honestly say we made the right choice. From the beginning, everyone on the team treated us like partners instead of just another project. Building a custom home comes with a lot of decisions, questions, and changes, and they were patient and responsive through every step. Our builder, Tino, was outstanding. He kept us informed throughout the build, answered questions quickly, and always took the time to explain what was happening and why. What impressed us most was his attention to detail. He wasn't just focused on getting the house finished—he genuinely cared that it was done right. Whenever something could be improved, he found a way to make it better. It gave us a lot of confidence knowing he was looking out for the quality of our home as if it were his own. We also can't say enough about Laura, our design coordinator. She has an incredible eye for design and helped us take the ideas we had in our heads and turn them into a home that feels cohesive and timeless. There were so many selections to make, and her recommendations consistently elevated the finished product. Looking back now that everything has come together, we're grateful we trusted her advice. Throughout the process, the craftsmanship and quality of the home were evident. From the framing and trim work to the finishes and the little details that many people would never notice, it was clear that pride went into the work. Building a home is never completely stress-free, but Design Homes made the experience far better than we expected. Communication was excellent, the team was professional, and they genuinely cared about delivering a home we'd be proud to live in. We couldn't be happier with how our home turned out, and we would absolutely recommend Design Homes to anyone looking to build a quality custom home. We bought a spec home and contracted with the builder, Design Homes, to add a basement bar and game room. The room layout and interior design options and support by Design Homes were above our hopes. Tino did a great job managing the build, keeping us informed, keeping the project on time and on cost. All of the contractors treated our property with respect, as if it was theirs. We cannot begin to say how happy we are working with Design Homes on the initial purchase and on the basement modifications.
We just got the keys to our beautiful home! Design Homes did a great job helping us design our fully custom home from scratch! Everyone on the DH team was pleasant and professional. The quality of their product shows in every detail and all of the vendors were fabulous, too.
We wholeheartedly recommend Design Homes! They have the most knowledgeable, professional, and responsive team to assist in every aspect of the new home building process. The trades and other vendors are top notch and everyone worked together seamlessly. We heard many horror stories about building a home and started the process with some trepidation. However, everyone we dealt with focused on meeting our expectations. In the end, Design Homes exceeded our expectations and we are thrilled with our new home!
Design Homes at Soraya Farms. In early 2021 We decided to start looking for our next home, we met with a few different builders to go over what we wanted. Most of the builders were not your average builder. We knew exactly what we wanted in a house and what we could afford and what we were willing to spend. We were greeted with nothing but hostility and people who were downright rude. We had been through a couple of Design Homes during Homearama, we didn’t really think we could afford the caliber home they provided. We decided to go through an open house one day, it wasn’t really the layout we wanted but the finishes were what we wanted. We were greeted by an older gentleman who was only there to show the House and see his daughter for the weekend. He was super nice and really knew a great amount about the home for someone who was there for the weekend. He asked us what we were looking for and what the house didn’t have that we would like, he then decided to walk us over to the next house and introduce us to his wife. She was also there to see her daughter and show the homes for the weekend. Completely made sense to us, they were super friendly and social. We loved the houses we saw, I kept thinking to myself “man this is going to be out of reach we shouldn’t have come here and looked”. The next weekend we decided what the heck we don’t really know until we go and find out, so we made an appointment to meet with the VP of sales Angela Flory “the daughter”. Again, we were greeted and treated with nothing but respect and kindness, we looked at the beautiful Model and went over a couple other floor plans. We were never hounded about if or what we could afford. We ended up liking a floor plan they had under construction and went under contract 2 days later. The entire time Angela made us feel welcome and kept us informed on everything that was going on, the house was going to be done in roughly eight months. Six months in at 5:30 on a Friday I text Angela briefly asking her to call me it was important. I am sure that was the last thing she wanted to see especially on a Friday. I made it worse and told her we no longer wanted the house we were currently under contract on, she seemed caught off guard and politely asked what do you mean? They had a house we loved that was a little more than we were comfortable with but it was exactly what we wanted top to bottom, it looked like it was built for us. I asked her if we could buy this house instead and close right away, she was shocked and said wow this could be a little hard to make happen with the mortgage and all of that, I had already called the mortgage guy and had all that worked out. She called me an hour later and got everything approved for moving our deposit and got the contracts drawn up right away. We closed about 30 days later. We could not be any happier with our home. From the very first day we have always felt like we mattered and that we were not just a paycheck at the door. The follow up has been great, we really have no complaints at all. We would 100% recommend Design Homes and especially Angela to anyone and everyone, we will absolutely buy another home with her and with Design Homes. Next time will be on land.
