Here recently for a work conference. Should have taken more pictures to reflect the experience. It is truly a five star experience. From arrival, to the quality of facilities to how each member I interacted with reflects a five star curated experience. I’ve had the blessing to stay in serval five star hotels in my travels nationally and globally. The closest experience I would compare it to would be the St. Regis in Rome. Besides the facilities, the bed slept like heaven, four down pillows, and house slippers and turn down service each night. Loved the marked, walkable track finished with a professional track service. My favorite, was the gym which is the closest I’ve seen to a lifetime fitness but with a turf Hyrox/Crossfit area, walkable track, spa offerings with various fitness classes and an abundance of the latest free weights and machines. Everyone that worked at the hotel always seemed to have a smile. Each small interaction was about service. Recommended with enthusiasm. Five star experience through and through.
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ We are celebrating my daughter’s 8th birthday at The Houstonian, and I wanted to recognize Natalie for going completely above and beyond. When I made the reservation, Natalie asked what my daughter was into. I mentioned a few of her favorite things, and when we arrived, she had transformed our room into the most thoughtful birthday surprise. There were personalized decorations, framed photos, themed gifts, friendship bracelets, a handwritten note, special treats, and so many little details that showed she had truly listened. The look on my daughter’s face when she walked into the room was priceless. Natalie made her feel incredibly special, and as a mom, that means everything. I’ve stayed at many hotels over the years, but this level of thoughtfulness and attention to detail is rare. Natalie helped create a birthday memory my daughter will never forget, and I sincerely hope she receives recognition for the exceptional job she did. Thank you, Natalie, for making our stay so special.

I was swimming here and my daughter lost her goggles. The lifeguards were extremely caring and helped me find them for her. A guard named Max assisted me in the search for her goggles and was greatly helpful; he was a very nice guard. I love this place and highly recommend. Everyone is very friendly and I felt welcomed.
As an interfaith wedding rabbi and officiant, I have officiated weddings in hotels, country clubs, resorts, and private estates around the world. What struck me about The Houstonian was how completely it changed the feeling of being in Houston. From the moment guests arrived, there was a sense of retreat and relaxation that is rare in a major city. Surrounded by beautiful grounds and mature trees, the venue felt secluded and peaceful while remaining easily accessible for family and friends. It created an atmosphere that encouraged people to slow down, connect with one another, and fully enjoy the celebration. As someone who spends a great deal of time observing how a setting influences a wedding, I appreciated that The Houstonian offered more than a beautiful backdrop. It created a sense of escape. The natural surroundings softened the pace of the day and allowed the focus to remain where it belonged: on the couple, their families, and the significance of the occasion. What I remember most was the balance the venue achieved between elegance and comfort. The wedding felt refined without feeling formal, and luxurious without feeling intimidating. Guests were able to relax and enjoy themselves while still experiencing a truly special occasion. The staff was warm, professional, and deeply committed to hospitality. Their attention to detail and genuine care helped create an experience that felt seamless from beginning to end. I would gladly recommend The Houstonian to any couple looking for a wedding venue that combines natural beauty, exceptional hospitality, and a sense of peaceful retreat that is surprisingly difficult to find in the middle of a major city.
I’m a month or so late but didn’t want to forget to rave about the Houstonian. I’ve stayed yearly for over a decade. Everything about those experiences has been top-notch especially in the way of the facilities and service. Somehow the Houstonian managed to outdo itself in 2026. Customer service was phenomenal! The reservations staff bent over backwards to see that a separate agency I accidentally booked through refunded my money so I received the room block discount for my group. From the moment we arrived until we left, staff went out of their way to pamper us and ensure we were taken care of. I would give 10 stars. HIGHLY recommend.
