Called in to inquire about new patient care, essentially my Annual. I asked about how they bill that as my wife went into another doctors office for the same and they split coded her visit as BOTH new and annual. For essentially blood work it was $600 to the insurance. Tryon seems to do the same. The intake person wouldn’t clearly answer. Question was what are your codes so I can check with the insurance company. She wouldn’t provide other than they do split code. She connected me to their billing dept and was on hold for 20 minutes before I gave up. Lack of transparency, lack of service. People might complain about insurance and cost of care but micro billing by providers is also part of the problem. They have no issue overcharging and we don’t learn about the net bill for months later. An annual used to be check out, ask questions run blood work. Now, it’s basically don’t talk cause any questions will be coded as a visit for a concern. Regardless if you see a PA or doc they will charge some exorbitant fee. Doctors offices need to stop seeing their patients as ATMs.
Not only do I love the location but I love the staff. Today was my first visit and I was so impressed with the staff. Not only were they professional, they were polite, very respectful of my time. Dr. Carim is a great doctor and I think I made a wonderful choice with her. This location offers an in-house lab, dermatology, gastroenterology, and internal medicine. Most of your medical needs are going to be met at this office. If they can't meet your needs in house, they are very accommodating when it comes to referrals. Not only was the office clean, but it has a great view from the 12th floor. Even though the view is not a requirement it's a great bonus!!!!

I had a wonderful experience with Dr Echeverri as a new patient. He was personable, thorough and extremely knowledgeable. Definitely recommend him, his staff and the office.
First time patient; felt very friendly and comfortable. Dr Echeverri may be new to the area, but is very thorough and explains everything great. I was anxious coming in, but everything was very pleasant for me doing a basic yearly checkup
My doctor, who I have seen since leaving pediatric care, recently retired. He sent out an email informing his patients of his retirement. Since then, I received no correspondence from Tryon Medical on how to move forward, which doctors were available, etc. I had an appointment scheduled with the doctor that retired, which they previously asked me to reschedule. No one reached out from the office in regards to how to get my standing appointment rescheduled or who I could schedule it with. My entire family sees another doctor who works for Tryon Medical. I called the office to see if I was able to reschedule my existing appointment with this doctor. The person who answered the call, Jovyas, was incredibly hostile, unprofessional, and downright rude. He cut me off multiple times, was dismissive and overall made it clear that he was irritated that I had the audacity to call and ask to reschedule my existing appointment because my doctor retired. He told me that the doctor who saw my family would not accept me as a patient. I asked if it was possible to make any exceptions since my family are lifelong patients, to which he became increasingly impatient and irritated and said the doctor himself says he won't take any of your old doctor's patients so no." I then asked what we could do then, and he quickly said "I will send a link with doctors. Thank you." He hung up the phone abruptly afterward. While I understand if that doctor is not accepting new patients, the entire process of my doctor retiring was handled horribly by the office. No one from the office contacted me with instruction on how to move forward, and when I called myself to figure it out, I was met with hostility and unprofessionalism. I have had several issues in the past with this office, being asked to reschedule standing appointments and those making the calls are very rude. This last experience with Joyvas was the nail in the coffin for me, as his conduct was beyond unprofessional. I am disappointed by the entire experience, and will be looking for a new primary doctor elsewhere. I would highly recommend seeking healthcare elsewhere if you want organization, respect, and professionalism.
