The view is absolutely amazing and the food did not disappoint. The octopus was perfectly cooked and very tender, the baby potatoes were delicious, and the honey oat latte was surprisingly good and well balanced. We were originally there for brunch, but it ended at 11:30am, so we ordered from the lunch menu instead and still had a great experience. The service was very attentive without feeling intrusive, and I would definitely come back to try the brunch menu next time.
When you have a great location like across from the best concert hall in the US and perhaps the world, you need to bring it. Chef Andres does just that 10 stories up in the Conrad Hotel. You think you get every dish when you read it on the menu, or at least most, but then when you get it and eat it it’s a whole different thing. Ever wondered what impeccably fried chicken would taste like with a furikake buttermilk sauce? Wonder no more! It’s amazing. How about the best lox on a piece of toast you’ve ever had? Sounds easy and simple but here it’s a different level. Really amazing food, drinks, service and view. It really is a destination that shouldn’t be missed if you’re visiting downtown LA.

I visited San Laurel and everything I ordered was absolutely outstanding. The dishes in the photos were all incredibly well-executed, beautifully plated, and full of flavor. But the real standout was the jamón with tomato bread — it was honestly even better than what I’ve had in Spain. The balance of textures and flavors was perfect, and it alone made the visit worth it. Great food, great atmosphere, and a memorable dining experience. Highly recommend!
Located on the 10th floor of the Conrad Hotel, San Laurel by Jose Andres draws on Spanish roots while embracing California seasonality. Executive Sous, Jeff Chan commands a capable and strong culinary team that serves up delicious Mediterranean inspired dishes. Favorites include the crudo starter with fresh hiramasa, scallops in delicious buttermilk sauce, a perfectly grilled and buttery lubina, oiley and crunchy pan de cristal, and the standout pistcahio ice cream cake. The restaurant offers sweeping views of the City including the nearby Walt Disney Concert Hall and the space is airy and upscale featuring modern materials, a polished central bar and an outdoor terrace space that extends into the restaurant (when weather permits). The $50 pre fixe for lunch is a standout deal and San Laurel is easily one of the best restaurants in the area. Perfect for a special occasion, pre-concert dinner, hotel treat or business lunch, San Laurel offers an excellent dining experience!
An excellent dinning experience worthy of recognition. First and foremost, the ambiance at Frank Gehry designed Conrad hotel is modern, yet laid back, open and warm. It is a magnificent invitation to what follows next which can only be described as intentional at every touchpoint. The staff is highly knowledgeable about the food and drink menu, the special, and take great care ensuring what you're about to order is to your liking by asking questions and guiding you. The tapas are masterfully designed, look like a work of art, culinary art to be exact, and are like symphony with every note intentionally and thoughtfully placed exactly where it should be. If you haven't tried this restaurant, I highly recommend trying it for yourself. You can thank me later for an elevated fine dining experience that's hard to find elsewhere in LA.
