We came here because of all the great reviews online, and it absolutely lived up to the hype. Nothing disappointed us from start to finish. The portions are huge, especially considering the price. We ordered the Shepherd's Pie and the homemade hash, and both were hearty, comforting, and packed with flavour. You definitely won't leave hungry. The atmosphere is exactly what we were hoping for. It's simple, cozy, and unpretentious, with a warm, homey feel that makes you want to slow down and enjoy your meal. It feels like one of those classic local restaurants that has been serving good comfort food for years. The staff were also incredibly friendly and welcoming. Everyone we interacted with was patient, attentive, and genuinely seemed happy to help, which made the whole dining experience even more enjoyable. Don't forget to check out the dessert display before you leave. The cakes looked amazing, and it's easy to see why so many people come here for both breakfast and dessert. Overall, this was one of our favourite meals in Portland. Great food, generous portions, friendly service, and a comfortable atmosphere all came together to make it a memorable visit.
I had the pleasure of dining at Mother's Bistro & Bar for both breakfast and dinner. The experience was delightful; the food was so appetizing that I immediately dove in and neglected to take any photographs. I enjoyed the flaky French toast, perfectly soft-scrambled eggs, crisp bacon, and their signature house mimosa. During my dinner dining experience at Mother's Bistro & Bar, I ordered the pot roast, and while it wasn't quite like my own mother’s cooking, it was one of the better menu choices. . .

This was the very first restaurant we visited in Portland, and we headed straight there from the airport for breakfast. The food was absolutely delicious and set a wonderful tone for our trip. I can say without a doubt that if I return to Portland, I will definitely be coming back here to try it again

The moment you walk in, the cozy, home-style atmosphere sets the tone—this place is all about comfort food done right. Service was friendly and efficient. If you’re in Portland and want a breakfast that feels both comforting and high quality, Mother’s is a must-visit.
We came up from Los Angeles and our friend told us to definitely make a stop at Mother's restaurant in downtown Portland. So we did and had a great time. The first thing we noticed was that the restaurant was full of people and very lively. The staff were very nice, genuine & kind. The servce was stellar, but because I used to be a chef and very sensitive about food, the soup of the day & the Omelet Dejour came out lukewarm & the toast was cold. That was the only downfall but we still had a great experience & we definitely recommend everyone to try it out!
