We had a wonderful experience at Townhouse Restaurant. The food was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. The staff were friendly, attentive, and made us feel welcome from the moment we arrived. The only negative was the extremely dry caviar. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, making it a great place for both casual meals and special occasions. Service was prompt, and every dish we ordered exceeded our expectations. We’ll definitely be returning and would highly recommend Townhouse Restaurant to anyone looking for a great dining experience.
The last time we were at Townhouse was about 8-10 years ago. We came for brunch this time on 5/23/26. Our hostess was very nice and seated us in a booth. It took a while for a server to come to our table to greet us and ask us for our beverage order. About 10 minutes. It was not busy. There were 3 of us. My bourbon cocktail was good but they brought it in a chipped glass. I immediately flagged down the server to let them know and they brought me a new glass and drink. I ordered the Veggie Power Plate which was very very good. The guys ordered burgers and they said that they were just ok …a 6/7 out of 10. My meal was a 9 out 10. I was super impressed that Sebastian the head chef was going around checking with everyone to see if everyone liked their food. I noticed the manager Rebecca was doing alot of floor work hustling by bringing guests this and that when I felt the servers should have been doing all of that because it wasn’t even busy.but that’s a sign of a great manager. She was very professional. The servers were a little slow paced. I did notice the booth seats (made of velvet ) were quite stained up (which was a turn-off and needed a good steam cleaning) Rebecca said that it’s on the list of things to do soon. I think they should think about swapping out the velvet seating for something that’s more easily wiped down. ( for health & sanitary reasons)since they are not doing a spot cleaning or deep cleaning that often. Food cost, slightly pricey.about $150 for 3. Tip gratuity not included The atmosphere was incredible. It was a nice visit but ..✅✅✅ we wished the Chicken Schnitzel Sandwich was back on the menu. Please add it back on. Thanknyou ….See you soon.

Townhouse continues to be one of Detroit’s standout dining experiences. The sushi is phenomenal—exceptionally fresh, with rice that’s perfectly seasoned and cooked just right, which makes all the difference. The ambiance is equally impressive, offering an upscale yet comfortable atmosphere that feels special without being pretentious. If possible, request indoor seating facing Congress or Woodward Street. The views add another layer to the experience and make for great people-watching while you dine. The price point is definitely on the higher end, but the quality, freshness, execution, and overall experience justify the cost. Simply put, the food and atmosphere deliver value that aligns well with the premium pricing.
This whole place is a vibe. I was just looking for somewhere to sit outside, and it completely delivered! I ordered the mussels and the strawberry salad, and both were seriously good. The mussels had a flavorful, well-balanced broth (definitely soak it up with the bread), and the salad was fresh with the perfect mix of sweet and savory. Overall, just a really solid experience—great food, great vibe, and exactly what I was hoping for. Would absolutely come back.
Atmosphere and the decor is top-tier. Food is mid at best. Service was wonderful. $40 for fries, was a trick, they tasted like frozen fries with a couple dried mushroom pieces added.
