I was pleasantly surprised by the location even though it is remote. The resort is very cute, and the views are beautiful. The service was incredibly friendly, and when we asked about a microwave they brought one up to the room. The boys enjoyed the pool, and the sauna and steam room were perfect complements to the experience. The restaurant was also an incredible surprise with excellent food and service. We look forward to returning.
I have gone to the Alderbrook Inn since I was a kid (I'm 45 now). The brunch has always been amazing. The rooms serve their purpose and are quaint. I spend most of my time at the pool and there is always some activity to do. Unfortunately, the resort attracts a lot of families and their children are quite loud and the parents don't seem concerned with how they might be effecting other people's experiences. For a time there the resort was leaning more towards adults and not really allowing kids and that was the BOMB! It was so quiet. I've never understood why they didn't have a section in the hotel/motel where families are designated and another side for people who don't have kids. Or do one weekend a month that's child free. Waking up at 7am on your vacation because a kid next door is crying that his brother took his train, is not relaxing. As paying customers we reserve the right to reasonable enjoyment. Were only renting the room for 20 hours, 8 of which were asleep for. That's $400.00 for 12 hours & to have to listen to little Tommy next door, or screaming kids at the pool. Not my idea of vacation.

We only stopped by for brunch, but we have stayed here before. Wonderful place, clean, food and the view were great. This is definitely a once a year kind of place for us.
Horrible experience! There were no loud obnoxious kids, crime, or any incidents of any sort. I felt too safe as I walked around and looked up to see a sky full of stars in the quiet bight. The food was too delicious. I unfortunately enjoyed the steel cut oatmeal with the café d arte coffee. Too good! Unacceptable!! Way too quiet of a place, even with a wedding going on. All joking aside, worth every bit. My only issue was the water pressure in the cottage/cabin was low. But that's it. We really enjoyed our time there. Lots to do if ya have kids. Trails, playground, and of course the pool are just a few to list. Going on a hot day? Don't like the smell of chlorine? Jump in their pool. You won't regret it.
Incredible resort. So beautiful and peaceful. friendly staff, comfortable rooms , amazing pool . we love coming here with kids for a day or two to unwind. perfect place to relax. last time we got a two bedroom cabin. It is very well laid out even though it might be considered smaller. It accommodated six of us perfectly. Took a short walk down to the pool in bathrobes and slipper, which they provide. Spend a good 2 1/2 hours alternating between the pool, hot tub, steam room, and sauna, as well as just sitting down and relaxing by the beautiful tropical plants they have throughout. They have the restaurant on site., the views are incredible just as the rest of the resort . They had a great selection of dishes and wine. We had dinner at the restaurant and one night and the second night took room service- delivered . Both times the food was really good. In the evening ,we took all the kids down by the firepits. They have s’mores kits at the front desk(the fancy kind). Kids really enjoyed that. Alderbrook is really an experience not just a hotel. Will definitely be back again.
