When I walked in, it felt like peace wrapped around me. No gates, no walls, no one asking who I was or why I came. We visited Jackson Park in April to see the Cherry Blossoms. The park itself is just okay, but the Cherry Blossoms made a beautiful photo opportunity with the pond and museum in the background. The museum parking garage is $20+ so if you are going just for the park, check the map for parking locations nearby

When you're here, it's easy to forget you're in the city! Plenty of room for walking, jogging, open fields, etc. They even have a driving range and a dog park. Just an FYI, you can't bring your dog into the Japanese garden, but there's plenty of other places to walk.
Crowded. We went for the Cherry blossoms. Needs alot of love. Too many people walking on the roots witch is not good for the trees. The Bridge is out of service and not under active repair. I did see a large catfish jump and that was cool.
Perfect place to see cherry Blossom and visit museums. Japanese gardens is a hidden gem... love i5
