We absolutely loved our visit to the Mint Museum Uptown! The free admission on Wednesday evenings is such an amazing perk. We only had to pay for the Caravaggio exhibition, but honestly, all the galleries and exhibits were incredibly interesting. Another huge plus is the convenient and super affordable underground parking right under the museum. The space is so huge that we couldn’t see everything in one go, so we will definitely be coming back to explore the rest of the rooms.
The museum is well laid out on several floors, with different art mediums being featured on each floor. Accessibility is no issue as the museum has both elevators and escalators to traverse each level. There are bathrooms on each floor for convenience. The art is an eclectic mix of local and international artists, old and new. The current Caravaggio exhibit is an additional $10 cost on top of the regular $15 admission, but worth it to see some old world master works from the 16th century. There is also a rotation of exhibits from students and for ArtPop currently. The museum is a wonderful eclectic mix of art from all walks of life. I especially like that they feature Romare Bearden works right down the street from the park named for him. Definitely a great place to spend a few hours.

Our wedding at the Mint Museum was so beautiful, we are thrilled with our experience. Laura was incredible to work with. She was so helpful and patient and answered all of my questions and helped us create a perfect day. We couldn't be happier with how it all turned out.
I think it is a nice place to visit with lots of interesting arts and crafts over there. The ticket is generally $15/adult but cheaper ($10) for seniors and college students. Whether it is worth it is depended on each person, but I think it's a good price for me. If you are a slow walker and want to get a good look at everything, defintely plan for at least 2 hours and a half. Luckily not very crowded when I came today. But when time to got out, the staff didnt check that there were still visitors inside so they closed the door. We had to knock from inside to get out. Besides than that, I think everything is good and you should visit when come to Charlotte.
Great museum. We traveled from TN just to see the Carvaggio exhibit. Loved seeing all the interpretations and inspirational works of others as well. Staff is very friendly.
