We had a great stay. The service was excellent. The staff were attentive to my family and I. Sam the server at the restaurant had a great personality and went above and beyond. It is great when you get quality service. We will be back because of this. Thank you Sam. We wish you and your family the best!
This was my third business trip staying at this property, and unfortunately, the age of the hotel is starting to show. Check-in was quick and efficient, which I appreciated. However, while my room was comfortable overall, it clearly needed some attention to detail. The bathtub had a noticeable rust stain near the drain, and the shower curtain also had visible stains, issues that detract from the overall experience. On the positive side, housekeeping was consistent and did a good job during my stay. I also enjoyed breakfast, and my waitress was attentive and provided great service. I didn’t park at the hotel this time, but based on prior experience, the parking garage remains a concern. There is a fee for overnight parking, yet there doesn’t seem to be any control over who can enter or park there. Some vehicles appear to have been sitting in the garage since my visit a year ago, which raises questions about security and management. At this point, it feels like the property is overdue for a major renovation. I’ve continued staying here due to my company’s preferred rate and its convenient location near our Southfield office, but I may need to start exploring other options as the overall quality no longer meets expectations.

Finding the property was a bit confusing, especially arriving late at night. I ended up using the valet parking they offered, which was convenient. The front desk staff was very welcoming and helpful—Stephanie (if I remember correctly) checked me in and made a great first impression. Unfortunately, the experience went downhill from there. The facility feels very outdated, and it didn’t meet the expectations I had going in. My room had an unpleasant smell, and to make matters worse, one of the towels was dirty, which is really unacceptable. The lobby also appeared unclean, which added to the overall disappointment. Later that evening, I visited the bar downstairs with friends. I ordered wings, but they were overly salty, and I ended up with stomach discomfort afterward. The next morning, I tried the breakfast buffet, which was just average—nothing stood out. I will say, though, that our server Sam was excellent—very friendly and attentive. Overall, while there were a few bright spots with the staff, the cleanliness, food quality, and outdated condition of the property were major drawbacks. I don’t plan on returning to this location.
Tango’s at the Westin in Southfield was such a wonderful experience. The atmosphere was warm, inviting, and perfect for a relaxed meal. The food was delicious, fresh, and beautifully prepared, and the service made the visit even better. Sabra was our server, and she was absolutely wonderful. She was friendly, attentive, professional, and made us feel genuinely welcomed from start to finish. It is always a pleasure to find a place where the food, service, and atmosphere all come together so well. Tango’s is definitely a spot I would recommend and return to again.
We stayed here for a family reunion and at nearly $200 per night the room smelled damp & musty. Called for deodorizer and they never brought it, luckily I travel with a personal sized room spray. Had to spray often. Breakfast bar had one chef on duty and the hotel booked several reunions that weekend so the line on Friday was ridiculously long, but the chef was great and handled the pressure well. The breakfast buffet was nice. The staff in general were nice. The value simply wasn’t.
