Market Square Park One of those downtown Houston places that reveals more the longer you look. Beyond the open seating and public art, this site has been part of Houston’s story since the city’s founding and even housed four different City Hall buildings before becoming the park people know today. A quieter standout is Lauren’s Garden, a moving 9/11 memorial honoring Lauren Catuzzi Grandcolas of United Flight 93, where water, stone, and symbolism turn remembrance into something deeply personal. Another detail many people miss is how art is woven into the park itself, from mosaic benches and fountain elements to James Surls’ “Points of View,” the tall abstract sculpture that adds a striking, almost secret visual layer to the space. It’s a good stop if you like places that feel both historical and quietly reflective, with enough detail to reward a slow walk instead of a rushed one

This is the meet up spot for Thursday night Clutch City Riders (Bicycle, Skates etc but no motorized) 7pm meet and gather then ride out at 8pm. Round trip was 14 miles. They have a stop point at the halfway point. About an hour break. I forgot the name of the venue but Drinks and food was sold. It was my first time and it's very well organized. It's a fee event, but the organization sales t-shirt s. I will be buying two shirts to help support. FYI, bring plenty of water, hydrate in advance. I made the mistake of heading back 7 miles about 10:30pm without the pack. That was dangerous, dark streets. If you have no choice but to do that, set your GPS to Bike. It will keep you best as possible with sidewalks. A few spots were missing sidewalks, so we went into the street nervous. Stay with the pack/group. Amazing, I estimated it was about 500+ riders. Some creative people had boom boxes strapped on to their backs, bikes so on. One of the most interesting things I've ever done. I follow Clutch City riders on IG.
