Ulmer's is great! I'm a college student and this was my first getting service done on my car with out my dad helping me lol. Booking the appointment was easy. I dropped my car off Thursday night for them to work on Friday. Unfortunately a technician called off because of the snow so I couldn't get my car till the following Monday. However they are very nice and offered a shuttle service to take me to work and pick me up from work on Monday!
Changing my review from a 1 star to 3 star simply because I had a very genuine conversation with one of the mechanics that called not even an hour after I posted a very poor review. This review does NOT reflect on the mechanics who are great at what they do and I appreciate them. This is directed at Ulmers who need to get it together with understanding how to connect with their clients and stop being a detached corporation. I was not notified of my diagnostic fee up front and the costs were not itemized/sent to me like they have been in the past. It was a link to the website showing all the things they checked. This is not how the Star motors I knew operated and it pains me to see this is how it’s done. No follow up call or confirmation to confirm what we are doing. Felt like I was out of the loop for my repair compared to the past. I hope Ulmers reads this and changes how they communicate costs to their clients or they will not be keeping them. Had been with Star motors since 2020 as a UC student and unfortunately going to another local shop.

I've lived next to these guys for two years now. They understand what it means to serve the community and how to help a neighbor out. They've been the *perfect* neighbors, helping me shovel my car out of the snow, helping with parking, and being all around cool guys. If they treat their customers with the same level of respect and attention that they've given me, I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them to anyone.
Damn, this place is great. They make my hard day a lot easier. The staff is honest and nice and responsive, and the price is reasonable. The pick-up service also saved my ass on a snow day like this. I hate getting my car fixed, but they make the whole thing a lot more tolerable. Thanks : D
My son bent the belly pan on his Civic on some icy snow; I looked at it and figured $30 - $75, depending on if they can pound it back into shape w/o removing it, or if they'd have to take it off, etc. $28 out the door, and they had him come in right when he called them - could not have been quicker and the price was certainly right. Oh, and it looks as good as new; their work was top-notch!
