Brett B. Thomas and his entire team are outstanding. From the beginning they were professional, knowledgeable, and extremely responsive. They took the time to explain everything clearly and made sure I understood each step of the process. What impressed me most was how hard they worked and how organized their office is. Brett and his team genuinely care about their clients and it shows in the way they handle cases. I highly recommend Brett B. Thomas to anyone looking for a skilled and trustworthy attorney.
When looking for a personal injury attorney, Jeff Hammond is the attorney to use. He’s knowledgeable and is there is answer any and all questions you have throughout the process. Jeff and his paralegal, Amanda May, made the process as painless as possible The team checked in often to give case updates and check the status of my care. They are incredibly prompt. I highly recommend Cohen & Malad for your legal needs.

After a very bad week spent at an inpatient mental health facility, I wrote a detailed account of my experience and took it to a lawyer (not Cohen Malad) who read it, sympathized, but essentially said it likely wasn’t worth my time or money, that the case would take years to pursue. I went away from that meeting discouraged, left my account in a file, and went on with life. A few years later, my wife showed me an article: the facility I’d been “treated” at was being sued. The article encouraged others who’d had similar experiences to reach out to Cohen Malad. I sent my account to them via email, really only hoping to offer a corroborating experience that might help the woman from the article, my goal simply being to help get the facility shut down so they wouldn’t continue harming others. To my surprise, Skyler from Cohen Malad reached out right away, told me they thought they had a case, and asked if I’d like to pursue it. I was wary about getting back into it - I was much better now, had found competent care and therapy - but Skyler and my wife encouraged me. A year or so later, I came away with a small settlement, and - much more important - the facility had been shuttered, in no small part due to the lawsuits Cohen Malad had filed against them on mine and others’ behalves. What’s more, I never had to step foot into a courtroom. Cohen Malad did all the work. All I had to do was gather all my materials, answer some questions, and wait. Yes, Cohen Malad got me money, but more than that, they got me justice. After years of trying to get someone to hear my story, they stepped up, listened, and made the facility and the courts listen too. My voice mattered. My experience was valid and it wouldn’t continue to happen to others. Thank you, Cohen Malad, for helping me believe in the power of small voices again.
I needed a family attorney during Thanksgiving week for an urgent matter. After researching top family attorneys in Indianapolis, I contacted five offices—Cohen & Malad, LLC was the only one to respond promptly. Tara reached out, listened carefully to my situation, and was confident in handling my case. She was thorough, communicative, and ensured I understood every step. Tara worked diligently with opposing counsel to reach a mutual agreement, and I am 100% satisfied with the outcome. As someone who works at one of the largest law firms in Indianapolis (though not in family law), my expectations were high. Tara exceeded them with her expertise, professionalism, and dedication. If it were possible, I would gladly have Tara at our firm as she is a great attorney and valuable asset —her talent and commitment are truly exceptional. I have great respect for Tara and the team at Cohen & Malad. I will recommend them to anyone needing a family attorney. Thank you, Tara, for your outstanding work and compassion—my family received the best possible outcome, and we are truly grateful.
I would highly recommend Cohen & Malad; Jeff Hammond handled my case with the utmost competence. He was very professional, great to get along with, knowledgeable and any time I had a question he would explain it in a straightforward way. His paralegal, Amanda May, was great to work with as well. She was super prompt at replying everytime I would reach out, and very friendly! Overall just a real nice person. If you’re reading this review right now, looking for an attorney, you should give them a call. No question.
