We had the most incredible experience at the Fairmont Pittsburgh, and I cannot say enough good things about the staff, especially Hannah A. From the very beginning, Hannah was responsive, friendly, and genuinely caring. She truly went above and beyond for our wedding weekend. When I walked into our room and saw everything she had set up for our boys, including snacks and Avengers surprises, I actually cried. It was so thoughtful and sweet. They were in heaven, and it made the whole weekend even more special for our family. From start to finish, every staff member we encountered was outstanding. The valet team and staff were incredibly helpful with unloading and unpacking our cars, which made such a difference with everything we had for the wedding. We had four rooms with about fifteen family members in and out of the suites all weekend, and everyone kept talking about how amazing the food was and how attentive the service was. You can tell how much pride this team takes in their work. We will absolutely stay here anytime we are in Pittsburgh, and I will recommend the Fairmont to anyone I can. Thank you for making our wedding weekend unforgettable.
We chose this property for a Valentine’s Day weekend getaway and, unfortunately, the overall experience did not meet our expectations. The highlight of our stay was the spa. The staff there were welcoming, professional, and provided excellent service. We truly appreciated their attentiveness and hospitality. Our experience at the bar, however, was less positive. The service felt indifferent, and we did not feel particularly welcomed. While we understand the hotel serves a high-end clientele, hospitality should feel inclusive to all guests. The most disappointing aspect of our stay was the lack of transparency regarding fees. There appeared to be additional charges associated with nearly everything — room service, restaurant and bar purchases, and parking, which totaled nearly $70 per day. We were not made aware of the parking cost until checkout. Additionally, we were informed at the time of booking that breakfast was included, only to be told otherwise after ordering. Thankfully, Erin, the manager, handled the situation professionally and credited the breakfasts, which we greatly appreciated. Overall, the property itself is clean and well-maintained, and the spa is exceptional. However, the accumulation of unexpected fees and inconsistent communication left us feeling misled. Greater transparency around pricing — particularly parking and dining inclusions — would significantly improve the guest experience. While there are positive aspects to the hotel, the overall value and clarity of charges would make us hesitant to return.

Really well designed hotel in an even better location! 2 minute walk from the subway and right infront of the market st bus stop so we barely had to use valet, and when we did they were super prompt and helpful. Room was also amazing. Clean, modern and an amazing view. Alajandra was so awsome to talk to at check in, and gave some great local input about colleges in the area I was visiting. I genuinely dont understand where the complaints about the rooms are coming from other reviews. Great hotel, rooms, and even views!🏢
I recently stayed at the Fairmont Pittsburgh, and overall it was a comfortable experience. The hotel has a nice, welcoming atmosphere right when you walk in, and the staff were friendly and helpful throughout my stay. The room was clean, spacious, and well-appointed, with everything I needed for a short trip. I especially appreciated the view of the city—it’s always nice to have a little skyline to wake up to. The bed was comfortable, and the bathroom was modern and tidy. Location-wise, it’s really convenient. Being right downtown meant I could easily walk to nearby restaurants, shops, and attractions without needing a car. Breakfast at the hotel was solid too, with a good variety of options. Overall, my stay at Fairmont Pittsburgh felt easy and pleasant. It’s not overly fancy, but it’s reliable, comfortable, and in a great spot if you’re exploring the city.
There are criteria to be considered 5-star. This hotel falls short on many levels. I’m not overly picky but I can certainly discern between a luxury and average businessman’s hotel. My biggest complaint was the condition of the rooms. The first was so bad I had to move. Bottom line is that cleaning and maintenance are lacking and the rooms are well past the time for a remodel. Unfortunately this great location is nothing more than a mid-range Marriott in disguise. Sorry.
