The tech that came to the house was obviously very experienced and knew what he was doing. We had a few estimates before he came here and they did not do a thorough search of anything before they decided they wanted to overcharge us. Anyway, we hired Mr. Rooter because it looked like they were experienced and the price was reasonable. They're not the cheapest but they're not the most expensive. Anyway, our tech got on his knees, used the flashlight, walked around, checked everything and was doing a thorough review of what needed to be done. Very experienced. He did a wonderful job. He was very efficient and explained everything to me. I was very impressed. I would use them again.
My issue was a gas leak. The guys (2) were great! They went in the basement and inspected the gas lines/outside meter, and explained what would be needed to be done to find the leak. It was around 3 o'clock, so i was ready to make an appointment for the following week, but they told me they could start "right now." The leaks were found and the remediation plan was explained to me, all within an hour and a half. Gas company came out to confirm no leaks and turned gas back on later that evening. Fast work and reasonably priced. Highly recommend!

This house is 100 yrs old with sewer piping of the same age. While replacing the kitchen stack Ivan noticed that the bathroom stack had brown streaks running down the outside indicating that there was a leak. With zero pressure the recommendation was to locate that leak and replace the stack. Turns out that the stack running from the first to the second floor bathroom had split. Also the basement portion of the stack had a goodly amount of corrosion inside. At this point Tony (field supervisor) became involved as the project became much more complex. Knowing the amount of corrosion inside the stack ( and the age of the house) it was recommended that the clay pipe running from the stack to the street be examined via camera. Thankfully it was still intact. At this point I did opt for the installation of a liner (100 yr old pipes won’t last forever). Throughout all of this…and what home project doesn’t get more complex?…Ivan and Tony kept me informed, showed me the problems that they encountered and explained, with zero pressure, the options available to me. The pic is of the crack in the stack. That crack extended the entire height of the wall!
I contacted Angi in the afternoon yesterday Mr Rooter call in about 10 minutes Mr Rooter, Raymond Raphael, 8:30 this am Professionally installed my new water hrt Was gone by noon today Mr Rooter management, including the young lady I communicated with, was the most professional contractor I have ever worked with. Raymond was professional and did a professional job.
I contacted Mr. Rooter’s plumbing service due to a drain backup in my basement. During the free estimate, the plumber (Rob) indicated the block went out to the street. I was informed that Mr. Rooter charge for said service would be just over $1,000. After suggesting the price was too high, Rob was given administrative approval to adjust the price to $850. After a period a time, he made it clear that he would not be able to clear the block age to the street without excavating the line which is approximately 15 feet from the street curb. This service would cost $9200, and could done via financing. After I paid the $850, which was to be applied and deducted from the new finance fee. Unfortunately, one I was declined, I found myself out of $850. A supervisor indicated he can only offer me a $350 refund. I asked to speak with someone that has the authority to offer a more fair compensation. Please note, the first floor bathroom was backed up the same day. Today, I spoke with a manager who indicated he is the highest level of management and $350 was the final offer. More specifically, “$350 is all you’re gonna get from this company.” His manner was not only rude, he was argumentative and aggressively disrespectful. It should also be mentioned that he began to get loud and attempted to bully me with double-talk and “take it or leave it ultimatums.” I sincerely asked that this correspondence be forwarded to a more professional administrator, that has the ability and class to address this customer service issue immediately. In my initial online search, I selected Mr. Rooter to precisely avoid these type of issues.
