This is the best auto repair shop I’ve been to in Nashville. They are super accommodating and transparent. I always feel like I’m kept in the loop whenever I bring my car here. Rachel is such a nice person to speak with and there’s no “gotcha” fees or upcharges. I’ve been coming here for almost 4 years and still recommend to anyone I meet.
I took my cars to the same little shop for over a decade. When the owner told me he was retiring, I asked him to recommend a new shop and, without hesitation, he said Bass Ewing. These guys are the best kind of old school auto shop. They won’t try to upsell you on unnecessary services or cut corners by doing half-assed work. They gave me an honest estimate, told me what needed to be fixed now and what could wait, and they did the work they said they would do, correctly, in the timeframe they told me, for the price they quoted me. No bullshit. If you really searched, I suppose you might be able to find another shop that would do the same work for a little bit cheaper, but you’ll get what you pay for. Personally, that’s not a trade off I’m willing to make with the car i drive my kids to school in, every day. I won’t take my cars anywhere else.

One of the best shops in Nashville. They’re transparent about pricing and truly care about their customers. Would highly recommend.
Ewing Bass Garage is an honest, reliable, and friendly mechanic. I have been a customer for many years, and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend to anyone. If you are looking for your forever mechanic in Nashville, look no further.
Highly recommend. They replaced my transmission two years ago and although that is a very painfully expensive repair, Rachel was highly communicative and honest about my options and the cost. There were no surprises and I felt very informed. I've since taken it back for other maintenance, including times when they checked it and were honest about repairs that weren't necessary. I drop it off and then spend the day working at one of the nearby coffee shops vs. ubering back and forth from home or arranging transportation from friends. Would send any friend to them.
