We had several things done by GLIC. We were very pleased. Robert and Haven't were our technicians. They worked with us and were so friendly and professional. It was total pleasure. We felt it was a job well done. We highly recommend them and recommend the same gentleman we had. You won't be sorry thanks for sending them our way Drew
NOV 2024 UPDATE: One of the smoke detectors they installed fell from the ceiling and is now dangling by the wires. Thanks, GLIC! JAN 2024: I would not recommend or work with this company again. I chose GLIC despite negative reviews but boy did it backfire on me. It started out great. Every employee I spoke to was kind (Paul, Kellie, Kam, Jon), the actual technician (Kam) was friendly. However, they failed the initial inspection and had to redo weather proofing. I've since had to hire another electrician to finish labeling the panel after GLIC did a service upgrade. The panel doesn't actually fit all of the breakers and covers them slightly. New electrician said without a new box there is no way to make them fit, so it will always look odd. We found out more that indicated poor work, but this review is long enough without getting into those details. To put it short and sweet: the communication between employees at GLIC is extremely poor and caused a variety of issues with scheduling, parts, etc. I started this process working with Jon on scheduling and Paul on the estimate. I sent a list of the work requested by email, explained it over the phone, and went over it in person with Paul. We ended up condensing it down and ultimately approved: 1. $675 Dual sensor, photo-ion smoke detectors for each level of the home 2. $3,150 200-amp service upgrade 3. $462.50 220 volt stove plug installation In total from 11/15 to 1/24 we communicated through 22 phone calls, 44 text messages, and 9 emails for this single job. Here are some examples of why we had to communicate so frequently: - We wanted to confirm that they were going to pull permits and send electricians who are licensed in the State of Michigan. - We needed a new invoice sent over and waited 2 weeks but it hadn't been sent. - On what would have been day 1 of work, GLIC cancelled on us 2 minutes before scheduled start time. - Actual day 1 of work ended because of an emergency call. We were told they'd possibly come back the next day, or Monday of the next week. I called and texted without any response until Monday morning when they scheduled us for later that week. - They brought the wrong smoke detectors to the house on day 2 of work. I can assure you that this review can't fully encapsulate the fuming frustration that experiencing all of this was. The sad part is that GLIC has all of the opportunity to get it together and be better, but I happened to be on the receiving end of their sloppy practices. I paid thousands of dollars to be able to tell you to listen to the other negative reviews. Don't be like me and give the benefit of a doubt, you'll regret it just like I do.

4200.00 Price on 400amp overhead service seemed reasonable at first. Waited all summer for meter socket that was on back order just to be told it was going to cost an additional 3700 dollars to install it on my pole. A dollar amount that was never mentioned until after I waited months for the box to come in! From there I dropped it to a 200amp service which still cost an additional 1700. Which was the cost to run electric cable from the building over the pole they had set in my field about 75ft away.(a cost that apparently wasn't in their first quote for overhead service??) They used a cable that was much larger than needed, left it hanging 9ft off the ground at its lowest point, did sloppy work and never installed a guy wire on the poll which immediately started to lean heavily. I reached out to Paul with concerns which never got acknowledged or addressed. Toledo edison would not hook up to GLIC's final product because there was no main disconnect installed. Paul quoted me another 2000 to put said disconnect on pole. I had to hire another company to come in and nearly redo the entire install. Don't waster your time or hard earned money on this company, I tried to give them a chance to fix this situation and got zero response from Paul or Jon so here I am writing my review.
Dan P was very knowledgable and worked carefully to make sure my ceiling fan/light was installed correctly. Personable and energetic.
The office staff are very friendly and helpful. We had someone come out directly to give us an estimate. Once approved, they scheduled the job quickly and completed the job professionally. Great company to work with.
