What a place!!! I grew up 19 miles S. Of Pittsburgh, I’m 72 y/o and only recently discovered this artistic ICON on a visit to my hometown Monongahela Pa. When I moved from the area at 20 y/o Randyland wasn’t created. In the 80’s an artist named Randy Gilson saw a somewhat neglected space and envisioned creating a place for him to display & express his artistic passions for found art. His story & the growth of Randyland is an incredible story. My visit was on a chilly rainy morning, I did have the pleasure of meeting Randy who lives on the property & often walks the grounds interacting with guests. The best part, entrance is FREE, donations are appreciated. Even purchasing items for sale is done viathe honor system. WHAT! Yep! I bought a Randyland mug from a shelf they were displayed on & paid the $10 via an electronic payment source. It is truly a unique experience and you discover something that will trigger a childhood memory or core life moment with every turn. My next trip home I plan to spend hours browsing & hopefully meet THE Randy. ( be careful when googling info, there is a site charging an entry fee, it’s FREE to enter!
A really fun and interesting experience, right around the corner from Allegheny General Hospital. If you enjoy repurposed things that are turned into art (per se) and just love colorful things in general, then this is your place! You can stay and see fun and funny outdoor "decor" for 10 minutes or a couple of hours, depending how much time you care to spend. There's a ton of photo ops, conversation starters, and best of all, it's free admission to the large outdoor area. You will not regret visiting this little hidden gem in Pittsburgh!

We loved the whole place, both bright and cheerful and thought provoking at the same time. Randy was there and we said hello. It's free and worth going - please leave a donation if you do!
This hilarious and quirky garden / park / art installation is on someone’s private property but spills into the streetscape in a truly charming way. Hard to describe unless you go, but if you appreciate experiencing the creativity and whimsy and weirdness of humanity, make this a necessary detour in your Pittsburgh journeys. Wander through the eclectic and campy collection of art, found objects, quotations, mirrors, and color, take a silly selfie if you must, and grab a strange souvenir that only those in the know will recognize. Takes only about 5 minutes to walk through, but you could spend much more time there if you wanted.
What an amazing spot! Even though I don't know Randy, I feel like I know a little bit of his heart after visiting this whimsical and magical place. It is hard not to smile when you're there. If you are a fan of art, love, kindness, whimsy, color, joy and creativity, please don't miss it.
