DiCaudo, Pitchford & Yoder

This firm, and Tom DiCaudo, was highly recommended to us for representation in a criminal case. After initial contact and review, a $10K retainer was immediately paid. DiCaudo did not give any guidance to the bonding process, nor did he attend the initial video arraignment to secure release from jail. We were represented by a public defender (which indicates that he had not been in contact with the court.) After an extremely high bond was paid due to a lack of representation, Tom failed to return two calls that I had personally made to his office to prepare and discuss defense strategies. The only time I was able to speak to Tom was at the first pretrial hearing and then again after charges were upgraded at a second arraignment (both of which occurred at the courthouse). From the beginning, it was easy to see that Tom was disinterested in the case as his attitude, communication, and professional decorum was beyond poor. After the second arraignment, Tom suggested that we may want to consider another attorney to represent us. He offered to turn over detail and files that he had to date. At this time, we were still waiting on discovery from the prosecutor. Our present attorney has reached out to Tom twice now and has not received a returned call. We have requested half of our fee to be returned but Tom has refused. We will be reaching out to the BBB, the Akron BAR Association, and the Ohio BAR Association for guidance and potential remedies.

Dicaudo missed my court date once and was late for the next 2. Would have been better off representing myself. I ended up taking a plee for something i wasn't even guilty of because I was sick of missing work. Save yourself money and go elsewhere.
