Overall, this place gets a 5 if not for a miss on a main dish. We ordered a few different things, the arugula salad, the purple potatoes, the gnocchi and a wood fired, Carolina chicken breast. All were pretty great. The gnocchi seemed bland and the chicken added had more of a leftover taste to it. Get the golden beets. Tarron was excellent and knew the menu well. The atmosphere is of high culinary class and detail. I would recommend.
I spent the weekend in Uptown for my birthday and strategically reviewed multiple restaurant menus before settling on Rooster's. The food, atmosphere, and service were superb. Carlee, was wonderful and attentive without being over the top. She knew the menu from top to bottom and we were so grateful for her. After receiving the check, she also explained their involvement in "Noble Food & Pursuits" that fights hunger and food insecurity. They're the complete package and made my birthday dinner so memorable.

We are staying the night in Charlotte and we’re looking for a place close to out hotel with good soup. My wife and I ordered thr tomato soup and it was fantastic. Honestly it was probably the best tomato soup I’ve ever had. My wife agrees. I also had the NC trout and split collared greens with my wife. Both were very good. We split a scoop of gelato for dessert. The restaurant is cozy, we walked in downstairs through the bar but decided to be seated upstairs. We will definitely be back the next time we come to visit Charlotte.
We had lunch on a Wednesday. It had been years since we had eaten at Roosters. It wasn’t as good as we had remembered but it was serviceable. Not a 4 but not a 3. Probably like a 3.7. Tomato Soup: 5/5 Salmon cake w/succotash: 3/5 Onion Rings: 3/5
Food was excellent and the entire staff was exceptionally friendly. The decor was unique and cool and the place had a nice vibe. It has a classy more upscale feel while still remaining casual. Felix was a great server and I highly recommend the tomato soup. Worth the visit.
