Lincoln Park Zoo is a fantastic destination and one of Chicago's true gems. The fact that admission is free makes it an incredible place for families, visitors, and locals looking for a fun and memorable outing. The zoo features a wonderful variety of animal exhibits, all set within a beautiful, natural landscape that's enjoyable to explore at a relaxed pace. The grounds are well maintained and make for a pleasant visit regardless of the season. I will admit that on several of my visits, some of the animals were not visible in either their indoor or outdoor habitats. While that's not unusual at any zoo, I've noticed it happens fairly often here. I'll chalk that up to my own timing, as animal care and welfare always come first. There are several convenient places throughout the zoo to grab a snack, enjoy a meal, or pick up a drink. Every staff member I've encountered has been friendly, welcoming, and professional, which adds to the overall experience. Whether you're visiting for the first time or returning for another trip, Lincoln Park Zoo offers an enjoyable experience for all ages. I highly recommend spending a few hours here and taking advantage of one of the best free attractions in Chicago.
Had such a great time here today with the family! The weather was perfect today (high 60’s) and there wasn’t a cloud in the sky. The Zoo is incredibly landscaped with lush grass, flowers and trees. The place is very well maintained, the bathrooms were clean and the staff was friendly and helpful. All the animals appeared active and healthy and their enclosures were clean and comfortable. If you’re in the area and like animals, you should definitely check this place out 😊👍

A really nice and interesting zoo with well-cared-for animals and a pleasant atmosphere. The admission is free, which makes it even better for families with children. It’s clean, spacious, and enjoyable to walk around, and the animals look healthy and active. The kids especially loved exploring and seeing everything up close. Definitely a great place to spend a fun and relaxing day with family.
The zoo is beautifully made and run, you feel like you're apart of the exhibits with the plant life and rocks around the outside of each viewing area of the animals. Is an amazing place to bring kids, or spend a solo afternoon. The workers care so much about the animals and had such great vibes and smiles! I think I've seen basically every animal in the zoo, but I'd still be happy to go several more times. Definitely see the giraffes if you can! And the reptile house is absolutely beautiful!
I loved Lincoln Park Zoo. It’s honestly incredible that a place like this is free. There was staff everywhere if you needed help, and at a lot of the exhibits they were sharing great info about the animals themselves. It made the whole place feel welcoming and cared for, not just like you were walking from enclosure to enclosure. Wandering through the zoo and then over to the Nature Boardwalk was such a great way to spend a few hours in the afternoon. A really special Chicago experience.
