Honestly, this hotel is fantastic. The service was amazing, but the absolute highlight for me was the fitness center. It’s like a mini YMCA, tons of weights, machines, mats, kettlebells, and even a workout mirror. The only thing missing was a bench press, but they have everything else, including a cold water fountain to refill your bottle. My room was super clean, and the bed and pillows were incredibly comfortable. Plus, the staff went out of their way to be helpful. I was a little bummed at first that there wasn't a pool, especially since I was in town for a conference. But honestly? The price was so much better than the hotels directly connected to the convention center that it didn't even matter. I’m 100% staying here from now on.
I don't know what changed but it changed for the worst. Usually on our drive to Columbus, you can smell once you've made it to Columbus. We didn't smell it this time on the way. We smelled it in our hotel room instead. The smell was so bad that when we got home we smelled it in our clothes and luggage. It's been a month since my stay and I have to buy new luggage because the smell won't go away. When I asked the front desk if there was anything I could do with the 21k points I had... I was asked what my membership level was, I said Bronze. You would've thought I told the guy at the service desk that I lived in a box and couldn't afford my stay. I only asked if there was something I could do with my points during my stay because the last time I was there, they gave us a room upgrade for being a member. I was told "best we could do is upgrade the wifi speed". Like okay, sorry for my offensive bronze membership that seemed to be kinder during my last stay. I'd also noticed that there was a Crimson Cup sign near the restaurant that appeared as though perhaps maybe the coffee shop moved into the hotel (I couldn't find it in the convention center anymore) and when I asked about that, the response was kind of the vibe of "what would make you think we have that here...?" Idk...the giant sign in front of the restaurant podium. My mistake once again. I don't leave reviews that often but this was...10/10 my worst hotel stay in my life and I've been to lower end hotels with better service. Genuinely wish I could get my money back for that stay.

Very clean and comfortable room with super cozy bed and pillows. The highlight of my stay was Ahlam at reception she was incredibly kind and helpful, and truly made my vacation better. The food was also great. I will definitely be back here. Highly recommend!
My first stay at Sonesta Columbus Downtown has been an outstanding experience from start to finish. As someone visiting Columbus for the first time, I truly appreciated how welcoming and comfortable everything felt the moment I arrived. What made this stay especially memorable was the exceptional service provided by Ahlam. She went above and beyond to assist us with everything from A to Z, making sure every detail of our stay was taken care of. Her friendliness, professionalism, and warm personality made her an absolute pleasure to speak with. It’s rare to come across someone who genuinely cares about guests the way she does, and it made a huge difference in our overall experience. The hotel itself is clean, well-maintained, and perfectly located, but it’s the people—especially Ahlam—who truly elevate the experience. I highly recommend staying here if you’re visiting Columbus, and I sincerely hope Ahlam gets the recognition she deserves for her incredible service. Thank you for such a wonderful stay!
Freaking life savers! They helped my man and I after a complete disaster with the Canopy Hilton stay. I'll spare the details on the hilton, but Sonesta has great and caring staff. The room is nice too with a high ceiling.
