William G. Milliken State Park is such a beautiful and refreshing escape right in the heart of Detroit! 🌿✨ Located along the Detroit River, the park offers stunning waterfront views, peaceful walking and biking trails, and plenty of open spaces to relax. I especially love the lighthouse and the marina — perfect spots for photos and just soaking in the scenery. It’s a great place for a calming stroll, a picnic, or even just sitting by the water and watching the boats pass by. The riverfront pathways connect to the Detroit RiverWalk, making it ideal for longer walks or bike rides. Everything is well-maintained, clean, and safe, and there’s always a lovely breeze coming off the river. Whether you’re a local or a visitor, this park is definitely worth stopping by if you want a slice of nature with gorgeous city and river views. 🌅🚴♀️🌊
I had an amazing time at this marina, my friend is a slip owner here and offered an up day fishing trip, and all the folks were awesome. I honestly can't say much about other attractions since I just boarded him boat and hit the river. However he did share that there are plenty of walking areas around the facility and that the DNR museum is a great place to visit.

This place is gorgeous! I got to walk around and I love that while you can look across and see the Canadian flag the water is beautiful! There are plenty of places you can sit in nature in the grass or on benches. It’s a beautiful scenic walk and they also have stationary public binoculars that allows you to see on the water etc. plenty of things to do!
Review for William G Milliken State Park ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ The park is simply beautiful, especially at night. The calmness of the water, combined with the reflection of the lights, creates a peaceful detachment from the hustle and bustle of daily life. It's a serene experience that allows you to unwind and enjoy nature's beauty. This park is definitely one to remember and a place I look forward to revisiting. Highly recommended for anyone seeking tranquility and picturesque scenery.
So beautiful! I recommend getting a cocktail at the adjacent tiki bar and then taking a stroll through the park. You may be in downtown Detroit but you can get completely lost in nature as you wander the trail, cross foot bridges over streams and observe dozens of different butterflies. I love seeing milkweed grow here to help the monarch butterflies! Such a gorgeous piece of nature.
