This spot felt more geared toward drinks than dining. The food menu was quite limited, and nothing particularly stood out, so we didn’t feel inclined to try much. We did order a couple of drinks, which were just okay — nothing memorable. The outdoor seating was pleasant and probably the best part of the experience. However, the food felt overpriced for the portion sizes and didn’t quite deliver on flavor or value. Service was mediocre. Our server forgot which drinks were for whom, so we had to figure it out ourselves once they arrived. Additionally, no plates or napkins were brought out with the food, and we had to request them after being served, which led to further delays. Overall, the experience didn’t live up to expectations, and I’m not sure it’s a place I would choose to revisit.
One of the most unique restaurants in Dayton! Located in the historic Oregon District, this restaurant has very good food and drinks, outdoor seating, music, a pool table, and a Koi Pond. They even have an event house, for private dinners and parties. I highly recommend you give them a try.

8/12/24 adding....Trolley Stop thank you for that information! 🙂 My friend, my mother and myself went there on August 9th to continue celebrating my 50th birthday from the day before. We had never been there before so I said I wanted to do a birthday lunch. The Trolley Stop was the place that I wanted to go. Parking was not horrible considering they had the Oregon district blocked off for the weekend. We came around 1:30 almost 2 o'clock, and it was not crowded at all. Our server was very courteous and made sure that everything was all right with our food. We all ended up getting salads and the salad was delicious! The only downside to going to the Trolley Stop (and they can correct me if I am wrong) But according to the words that was printed on the steps, the restrooms are upstairs, which is two flights of stairs. My mom has a walker so getting to the restroom would have been impossible for her. I don't know if they actually have a restroom downstairs but for anyone who has a walker or wheelchair...going to the restroom would probably be out of the question. But I could be wrong. The price of our salad was reasonable. It was a large salad and it was only $8. I would definitely visit again but not with my mom as she uses a walker.
We went a little before noon on a Friday hoping for brunch, but was told that only happens on Saturday mornings. So I ordered a cup of the potato soup with bacon and cheese. That was very good although for people who want something mild might find it a bit spicy. I also had a bowl of the Tex-Mex rice and beans. It was quite a large portion as I took home about half of it. My husband ordered the jalapeno pepper grilled cheese with jelly and a cup of chili and he liked both. I tasted the grilled cheese and I also liked that. He had a cup of beer and I had iced tea to drink. The service was excellent, very friendly. When we were there, people sat both inside and outside on the patio, which looked very nice. The whole restaurant is a lot larger than you would expect just seeing it from the front. Eighties music was playing in the background very quietly. It was not a distraction. We parked out on the street, however there is a parking area next door to the restaurant called Lucky's . We will return again, hopefully for brunch next time!
I recently visited the Trolley Stop in Dayton and had a fantastic time there. Nestled in the vibrant Oregon District, this spot is a true gem with its inviting patio and eclectic vibe. I tried the "Patio Pounder" cocktail, a delightful rum-based drink that was absolutely refreshing—perfect for enjoying outdoors. Another highlight was the vegan queso and chips; it was deliciously flavorful and a great option for anyone looking for vegan-friendly fare. The Trolley Stop's atmosphere is laid-back and friendly, making it an ideal place to relax and unwind. The staff was welcoming and attentive, adding to the overall great experience. Whether you're in the mood for a unique cocktail or tasty vegan snacks, the Trolley Stop in Dayton is definitely worth a visit. The Patio Pounder and vegan queso come highly recommended from my visit!
