First time in Phoenix, so a food tour made sense. The young woman did a great job and each of her 6 places were great. From great pizza to great Mexican food. We walked almost 2 miles.
We did the downtown Gilbert food tour. Sam was great! She was alot of fun and our group thoroughly enjoyed her. Started off a little slow but then we all got into our groove. I would love it if the tour included some of the items that each place is known for: the cinnamon rolls at the liberty market, the prickly pear soft serve at Topo and the corn bread at Joe's. Not to mention doing the tour on Sunday, a lot of the places were closed so we were limited to where we could back to visit.. still very entertaining.
We had an amazing food tour with John-the-Great as our guide. John has lived in Phoenix for many decades and knows the local establishments very well, forging exceptional relationships with both the locals and the ppl on his tours. You can't teach the soft skills that John has acquired over the years. The food was such a wonderful mix of things that everyone will find something(s) they love. There are plenty of vegetarian options (we had 3 in our group) and if it's not clear from the description, this tour price includes some alcoholic beverages along the way! We think visiting on a Friday in January is a great time and would do this again in a heartbeat. Tours can fill up, so don't delay. We pre-booked about a week in advance and had about 15 ppl on our tour, which felt like the perfect size.

James Beech did a great job given it was his first DWT Phoenix food tour. Food choices were good with exception of the Thai Basil.. Cornish Pasty was epic Routing/order needs tweaking , Bosa donuts, then Thai Basil , then Cactus Cafe……..dessert/treat/ then Thai food then another sweet treat seemed out of order.
We love food tours and this one did not disappoint! Great tour with fun, knowledgeable guide, delicious food and interesting sights. If you're looking to learn more about your city, or if you're from out of town and want to experience Phoenix like a local, I highly recommend Taste it Tours!
