Get in free on Sundays! This museum is fun for all ages. Kids can make their own art while they’re there. The café is a nice clean area to enjoy a coffee or snack. I enjoyed the different styles of art. While I was there they had comedians performing. Overall this is a great place to take your family to visit. I’m very impressed with this art museum. I’ll definitely be coming back here soon.
I’ve grown up with the Cleveland museum of art—this powerhouse museum—in my backyard. So, my expectations for other museums is usually mid. But I had an afternoon to spare so I visited the Columbus museum. And it was amazing. Like…legit worth it. Obviously it’s a smaller museum, but think of it like a condensed, concentrated museum of greatness. You still get a Monet and a Hopper (one of my favorites is there). You don’t get 12 of each…but honestly, it’s better in some ways. It gives you time to appreciate each piece in a different way instead of just glazing over the work. The prize right now is the chalk drawings of Tacita Dean. They will shake you to your very core. I don’t know if I’ve ever gone back to see a piece in the same visit. But I had to see those cloud pieces again after lunch (ps—eat lunch there. The burger is actually something special with the fruit on it.) I sort of love this place. I’ll be bringing the family back when we come through Columbus again. The only issue is it’s not a cheap — you’ll pay $20-some dollars each visit. But that’s actually not bad…just spoiled with the Cleveland museum being free. But I’m sure this place doesn’t have the mega donors Cleveland has. Bottom line—this place is fantastic. I woke up thinking about the art. Not sure the last time that has happened.

Came across this little gem called Candlelight concert series. The venue was the Columbus Art Museum, which was a great place to visit. Took a friend for her Birthday to see the one which featured the songs of the Beatles. The musicians were absolutely wonderful. It's always nice to find good cultural events to attend. I've already signed up for three more concerts
Small museum but has a nice collection. If you're a George Bellows fan, they have several of his paintings (he was born in Columbus). Admission and street parking are free on Sundays so if you can go then it's worth it.
We went to see the Candlelight Tribute to Beatles quartet orchestra. Musicians were relatable and they created a cozy intimate type performance. The museum staff were incredibly friendly and helpful❣️
