Hampton Inn Akron-South

My fiance and I have a disabled daughter. She loves to swim. So I saw that this hotel has an indoor pool. I called the hotel to see if their pool was heated and the lady at the front desk said that it was. So I went ahead and booked the room for the night so our daughter could swim. To our surprise the pool was freezing cold. I asked the lady at the front desk if she could go into the maintenance room or something and try to turn the temperature up. She went into the room and tried to turn up the temperature but there's something wrong with the heater. After an hour I was walking the halls and I bumped into the front desk lady and I guess a maintenance man. He informed me that he fixed the heater and wait about an hour and the pool should be okay to go swimming. So we waited an hour and then went in the pool but the pool was still freezing cold. We did go into the swimming pool for about 3 minutes because my daughter's lips were turning blue because the water was so cold. So we waited until the next morning but yet again the pool was still cold. If I would have known this I would have never booked a room at this hotel. I basically spent $160 to sleep in a different bed. I mean I was told that the pool was heated and it was freezing cold. I wasted my money. I am beyond disappointed and upset. The whole reason for the stay was so our daughter could go swimming and this did not happen. There should be an employee that is checking the pool to make sure that it's warm enough for people to swim in. Also the carpet in our room has red stains all over it. And there was hair all over the toilet and inside the tub. I had to clean the toilet before we were able to use it. Employees need to do a better job of cleaning the rooms for guests. Again I wasted $160 on a room that was dirty and a pool that was freezing cold.
