This place needs a renovation, but that’s not the real issue. The restaurant hostess, on my night, was dismissive and arrogant. If you are understaffed, just be honest and explain the situation kindly. Most people will understand. The food is quite simply terrible for the price point. There are plenty of restaurants at half the price and I make far superior chicken with a George Forman grill. I’d expect the same from Dennys but not a Ritz. Depending on who you interacted with the staff was hit or miss. Some pleasant, some not. Our server was super sweet.
This hotel is in desperate need of a major renovation. It has a prime location but it is time to fix it up. They should close it for a year a redo all of it. The decor is old and tired. Paint is deteriorating. Carpet is past its prime. Furniture is old. The tray in our room for the coffee service looked like it came from a flea market. Bathrooms should be renovated. Etc. The disappointment with the place starts with the first phone call. To save money, a computer answers the phone and who doesn’t hate that? I pushed buttons and ultimately rang the front desk only to have it ring 15 times with no one answering before it hung up on me. I called back and it rang 11 times before someone finally answered. The Ritz brand is a far cry from what it once was. With some attention and money this property could be substantially improved but, until then, it is average at best. The staff, however, is delightful.

A beautiful stay at the Ritz-Carlton Marina del Rey. The views from the room overlooking the boat deck and the city are spectacular, especially at sunset. One of my favorite parts was walking through the hallways; the collection of famous paintings makes the hotel feel like an art gallery. We had a great meal at Cast & Plow, and the location is perfect—walking distance to local restaurants and very close to the beach. The waterfront tennis courts were a nice bonus!"
Whats not like about the Ritz-Carlton. The location is perfect very near LAX and the staff are always very accommodating. My 2 most favorite things about this hotel are Cast & Plow the restaurant in the lobby and the SPA. Ill just say, lots of good food on the menu, if you like Brussels Sprouts... they way they prepare them is just short of Heaven. You dont need to order anything else... well maybe the burger..(dont forgot the smoked bacon on top)!
It’s a Ritz so obviously expectations are high. And yes they were exceeded. After a long day of flying to arrive and be positively greeted and informed room ready at 2pm was beautiful. Lobby bar and restaurant staff outstanding. Concierge was excellent as well. Club Lounge staff wonderful. Won’t book anywhere else again.
