Rooms were very nice but the front desk was sometimes slow on responding to concerns regarding the rooms and i had to al for certain things to be fixed/done multiple times to get someone to respond, unless Iva was at the front desk. She seemed to be more attentive when requests were made or concerns were brought up. Aside from that, Michelle, Cola, Iva, and Barbara from the lounge all made my stay much more comfortable. Michelle and Iva greeted me by name every time I saw them and made sure all was well. Michelle made sure I was straight every morning that I went to breakfast, while she was attending to everyone else with the same level of urgency. Cola made sure everyone at the bar was being properly tended to, gave me great suggestions on places to eat and things to see, and was just great to chat with. Everyone at the bar was pretty cool though, to say the least. Barbara ran a right ship in that lounge making sure everyone knew what was used for what and why certain things had to be a certain way, and the end game was always to make sure that everyone was able to enjoy there experience in the elite lounge without hiccup. And that cheesecake was bomb. Didn't see one person leave that lounge without her "come back at 730 if you want some cheesecake" and it did not disappoint. Will likely stay here again on my next go round.
I travel often for work and this is probably my favorite hotel to stay when I'm in Detroit (I alternate staying here with staying at the Element at Metropolitan. I do prefer this location because the parking is abundant and valet is not compulsory). The rooms are spacious with a work station and hardwood floors. There are charging station outlets at each side table and at the desk. The beds are some of the most comfortable I've tried at a hotel. WiFi is easy to connect to. There is a Starbucks on-site. The bathroom is clean with good water pressure. The M Lounge is on the 6th floor (it's small but never crowded). Barbara who works in the lounge is one of the friendliest attendants I've come across at a Marriott property! She keeps the lounge clean and stocked with everything. Good customer service is a rarity these days and I love being greeted with her smile when I walk into the lounge!

I had a wonderful experience during my stay, and a big part of that was thanks to Barbara in the concierge lounge. She was absolutely amazing. Her personality was warm, genuine, and welcoming, and she truly brightened my day every time I stopped by. The concierge room itself was always clean and well maintained, and the food was consistently fresh and nicely presented. But what really stood out was Barbara’s service. She made the space feel inviting and made guests feel valued, not just served. She’s a true asset to the team, and she made my experience extra special.
Best hotel experience I've had in a long time, truly helped make me feel welcomed back home. Came back to Detroit for a surprise Bday from Dallas TX and decided to spend a little extra on the trip to stay in a hotel instead of be a burden on family with my pregnant wife. We were just in Nigeria 4 days prior to this trip and London before that so we were both EXHAUSTED but wouldn't miss the surprise party if possible. I really expected a decent Marriott experience as we never have issues with the brand and choose here often if not AirBnB, but WOW. The staff was very welcoming, smiled often and spoke more than just a one word greeting. I needed peppermint tea for my wife's nausea, again pregnant, and Adrienne at the front desk searched high and low for some tea to help ease her discomfort. At the same time, I spoke with Jestiny in the restaurant who was really busy handling a crowd, but stopped with dishes in her arms from a table she'd just cleared to smile and listen to my request for hot water in a cup. She let me know she'd be right on it, finished her task on hand and let me know she'd double up the cup to hold the heat and asked if I needed a lid. providing more than requested is EXCELLENT SERVICE!!!! Both women in the concierge 6th floor breakfast and dinner room were always polite and prompt. AND during breakfast the attendant went down to the truck to grab fresh incoming fruit to slice up after my wife asked for fruit but found out they didn't have the delivery yet. All around FANTASTIC STAY, thanks team!
Service staff was second to none! The manger Keith . He was warm, helpful and extremely professional. We were there for a women's conference and we were treated sooo great by EVERY staff member. I travel quite a bit and that is very rare. I would highly recommend this location. Rooms were clean and food was pretty good as well.
