Centennial Park

Here’s a polished version of your Google review that keeps your honest experience while making it easy to read: We were so excited to visit Centennial Park and especially to tour the Parthenon. Unfortunately, we arrived to find that the museum was closed from April through June for the installation of a new air-conditioning system, something we weren’t aware of before our visit. While we could still walk around the outside, it was disappointing not to experience the interior. What was even more disappointing was the condition of the grounds. For such an incredible and iconic replica that draws so many visitors to Nashville, I expected it to be much better maintained. The building itself is beautiful, but the surrounding area felt neglected. There were multiple homeless individuals living around the exterior of the structure, with bedding, food containers, and areas that smelled strongly of urine along pathways where tourists were walking. It made it difficult to fully enjoy or appreciate the experience. We did enjoy walking through the park and seeing the various statues and monuments, which were very interesting. It was an extremely hot day, and I would have loved to spend more time exploring, but the condition of the grounds left us feeling disappointed. I truly hope the city invests more in maintaining this landmark because it has the potential to be an amazing attraction worthy of its reputation.

The park is under construction all around and inside the Parthenon was closed. Otherwise, the park is great place to hang out. Only a few homeless people on the grounds. The flowers and flowering trees were beautiful! Paths are concrete and smooth for walking, or riding bikes. They don't allow skateboarding or rollerblading signs say....weird. There are beautiful statues and information about the time periods and people who made it possible for this to be a park for the community! We saw a man fishing in the lake. Canadian geese were there grooming and eating up the bugs. They are not afraid of dogs or children!! We spent about 1 1/2 hours biking and admiring the statues. There was a young woman getting her pictures taken all around the different features, which was a beautiful sight. I would think this park would be a great place to have an event, i.e. wedding, engagement, family gathering etc Parking was limited to 2 hours but free. We went midday and found parking. I bet at lunchtime you won't find a parking spot anywhere! It's a beautiful park to hang out on a beautiful day!
