So interesting to see how they let in the public to see how the government work, the history the place carries and many more. Fun fact 1: The whole building is made of materials locally sourced from Colorado. Fun fact 2: The building has highest deposit of Rose Onyx, one of most expensive and luxurious natural stone! You can see them on the walls! The building is overall very beautiful and you might get lost as it’s huge! We got to take a free tour of the dome, the only way to access there! View from the top was beautiful, got a sneak peek of the downtown kindof if its playing hide and seek! You can go and register there at the info desk, they also have a full tour for an hour! They also have a canteen corner downstairs if you want to grab something to eat!
First time in Denver. Didn’t plan touring the capital while I was here. Glad I did. Our tour guide was Aleeah, she was very knowledgeable in her explanations on the history of the capital, details of the building and much more. Best part of course was heading to the top of the capital and seeing the mountain range view . Just beautiful! And it was a free tour!

The public can visit during their operating hours but you must reserve a spot on the free hourly tour to access the dome, if you don't you can't go up in it. It's a beautiful building and the view from the top towards the west is amazing. Also, the mile high marker is on it's steps and there is a small cafe in the basement that sells food and beverages. Beautiful architecture and art inside and around the capitol as well, worth visiting while in Denver
This is must see for everyone! The building is amazing, built years ago but in great condition. The work and determination to do this is something you seldom see now. The granite on the outside, the marble flooring, the rose onyx on the walls, the brass and wood trim and every other aspect of it is beautiful! The history you learn in displays here and the guides is also as good a reason to go as the building itself. Mr Brown's Attic has so much info to see and learn. The trip to the dome takes effort but is rewarded with a grand view of Denver and the mountains. You also get to see our government in motion, take a little while and watch the senate or house discuss bills, another super reason to visit. It takes 2 or 3 visits to take it all in, what a place! In the pictures is four that look up at the dome on the inside from each floor and a couple of the view when you step out of the dome where you can walk all the way around. I am going back again to see and learn more!
Beautiful visit to the Colorado State Capitol! The building is stunning with its classic architecture and gold dome. Great place to learn a bit of history and enjoy nice views of downtown Denver. Definitely worth a stop!
