A truly wonderful place to visit with family and kids! There is so much to see and do—we easily spent the whole day here without anyone getting bored. I love how interactive and engaging the science exhibits are, making learning so much fun for all ages. Plus, having snacks and restaurants right inside makes it super convenient to grab a bite and keep the day going. Highly recommended!
The Griffin Museum of Science and Industry was one of the highlights of our trip to Chicago. The museum is outstanding, with an incredible variety of exhibits that make it easy to spend an entire day exploring. Everything is interactive, beautifully presented, and engaging for both kids and adults. The absolute highlight is the U-505 submarine. Seeing a real German U-boat from World War II up close is simply unbelievable. The exhibit is one of the most impressive museum experiences I’ve ever had. The way it’s displayed and the story behind its capture make it unforgettable. We traveled all the way from South Florida, and it was worth every mile. What surprised me most was how much our five-year-old loved it. It’s been well over a year since our visit, and he still talks about the U-boat and asks when we can go back. That’s about the highest compliment a museum can receive. Whether you’re traveling with kids or you’re a history or science enthusiast yourself, this museum is an absolute must-see. It’s one of those places that creates lasting memories, and we can’t wait to visit again.

We absolutely loved this place! It can easily be a whole day trip, although one day is sufficient as long as you aren’t stopping to read every single exhibit in detail. The museum is very beautiful, and the way all the concepts and practical demonstrations are presented, especially with kids in mind, is truly amazing. There are so many great spots to take pictures. We especially loved the presentation of different railroads from around the world, as well as the storm exhibit. There was also a special area designed just for kids, where different forms of energy were represented through interactive activities. My kids absolutely loved it and had a fantastic time exploring and learning. On top of that, the food was surprisingly amazing. We tried the vegan pesto pizza and the burger, and both were really good. The only downside was the movie pricing. I felt that if someone has already paid for museum admission, the prices for the internal movie experiences should not be that high. Overall, it was a wonderful experience for the entire family, and we would definitely recommend visiting!
Always a blast! As an adult, I have a great time exploring all the exhibits. This time I went with my kids and they had a blast running around and interacting with everything! From farm tech to the interactive middle entrance section, there was never a dull moment! We also got to visit the Spider-Man exhibit and that was the coolest collection of Spider-Man memorabilia we've ever seen!
This was our primary reason for coming to Chicago. The wife wanted to see a specific exhibit, and I was intrigued by the Uboat. This museum is clean, well run, and well laid out. The prices were good (food court was normal for public event spaces). We easily made it here using public transportation from River North neighborhood. Actually, our entire 4 day trip was all easily accomplished via public transportation. Would definitely come back here again. Had a great time, learned a LOT, saw some really good different exhibits. Well worth the trek
