I've stayed here numerous times over the last few years. It's been fine but this time it seemed nothing went right. Upon entering a note on the door said pool closed. They only had 1 elevator working. Since having 3 floors only having 1 normal size luggage cart and smaller one. It broke bringing to our room. The handles detached from the base. In the room there wasn't any hot water just luke warm. We had to go back down as we didn't have coffee or sugar/creamer packets. The night light to one bed had no bulb took from another lamp. Friday & Saturday there was only 1 person at the front desk. The entrance door very slow in opening. At one point it got stuck half way opened. Saturday afternoon when going to our room we got locked out. So of course we had to go back down to get it fixed. Next time I opt to make reservations I no longer will reserve here.
It was awful and the management was awful as well. The first thing we noticed when walking in was some trash on the ground. Then we checked in and when we arrived at our room the door was left open and one of the beds was unmade. There was hair all over the other bed that was made. Since it wasn’t a great first impression we just asked to have our rooms switched to a room that was ready. They did give us a new room but the issue was that it smelled strongly of cigarettes and it was a designated non smoking room. We could tell there had been someone smoking in there. After this I went to the front desk and kindly informed them we wouldn’t be staying there for our trip and I would like a refund. The person on duty, Mini, told me that she apologized and that she would make sure that we got a refund. It has been two weeks and after multiple times trying to reach management, we still have no response. We were finally informed that we would not be getting a refund. I highly recommend staying anywhere else. The Holiday Inn Express & Suites Toledo West by IHG is an amazing place with clean and friendly accommodations.

Apparently there are new owners as of 2 months ago and they don't have the staff it takes to run a hotel efficiently. The employees they do have are overwhelmed. Even under these circumstances they were very nice. The property was overgrown with weeds. The outside had trash everywhere, all the cans were overflowing. We had to fight to get our room cleaned because we stayed a week on America's 250th birthday. Our toilet seat was broken and they never fixed it. It also clogged and they just gave us a plunger 🪠. Then the bathroom sink clogged. They never fixed that. Our key card stopped working and we had to get new ones. Our bedroom light burned out. The bathroom vent never worked. On our last day there as we were getting ready for church the fire alarms went off for about 3 minutes. That evening as we returned to the hotel the first lvl carbon monoxide alarms were going off for hours. We were told that carbon monoxide builds up in the laundry room and they were trying to air it out. Husband started to feel weird and got a headache. At 9:30pm the fire alarms went off again and this time it was real. We had to evacuate. We didn't get the all clear until 1:30am. We wanted to get on the rd at 5am but that didn't happen. Husband needed his sleep as we had a 9hr trip hauling our boat back to Tennessee. With all this going on the owners who are from India got a call that their mom passed away and they left these poor employees with no one experienced enough to run things but then again the owners don't either.
One of the best hotel experiences I’ve had. The management team was extremely accommodating! I arrived on a bus downtown at 10am, and called ahead of time to ask if I could drop off my bags and explore the town before check in. They agreed, but when I arrived they did something even better and expedited my room. It was available for check in by noon, allowing me to have a bit of rest before heading back out. There is a smoking area outside so they can make sure the hotel is smoke free, I appreciate that they accommodate smokers without judgement. When it was time to check out the next day, I was heading to a wedding at the Toledo Zoo. The staff allowed us to check out an hour later, and then allowed us to store our bags until the wedding was over that night. We picked up our bags and made our bus on time with no hassle thanks to the team at Comfort Inn & Suites! The breakfast was also great, it’s a real treat to have a continental breakfast these days. What started as an affordable option with breakfast turned into a great overall experience for me and my partner, I definitely recommend staying here!
Currently staying here for two nights if it wasn’t for the money I spent I would leave. The upkeep of the rooms are horrible. I left to get my own cleaning supplies. I was moved from one room because the pipes were leaking. The towels in the rooms are dirty. Dead bugs on the air conditioning unit. Hallways are filthy and inside the elevators. Floors not sweeped nor mopped. Again would leave but can’t afford to loose my money.
