5 stars absolutely deserved for Terra Mae. The food was incredible, but the service somehow managed to be even better. Our server, Cookie, was amazing from start to finish. The restaurant normally serves dishes family style and coursed out, but since it was my birthday and we had plans afterward, we were a little tight on time. Cookie was incredibly accommodating and made sure all of our food came out together so we could still enjoy the full experience without feeling rushed. The entire staff was so kind, including the hosts, and the restaurant itself is absolutely beautiful inside. To top it all off, they surprised me with a chocolate cake and even gave me a handwritten postcard for my birthday, which was such a thoughtful touch. They genuinely made the night feel special. Can’t wait to come back.
We had an amazing dinner here and it was genuinely maybe my favorite meal I’ve had in Portland. Annette our server was fantastic. She was prompt, knowledgeable, and had funny quips. The food was outstanding. We enjoyed everything we ate, especially the tuna sashimi, udon noodles, and yuzu cheesecake.

The setting is cool and all the staff were very friendly and attentive. We enjoyed the food particularly the green bean tempura and kabocha. The butter mochi was tasty as well. The only item we were disappointed with were the Hokkaido scallops which tasted a bit fishy. Full disclosure, I love sushi/sashimi so I am extremely particular about freshness. We did not mention it because we were enjoying our evening. The cocktails were creative as well.
Terra Mae in Alberta was such a great find!! The vibe is really nice warm lively and stylish without feeling too stiff or try hard. It’s the kind of place where you immediately feel comfortable settling in for a long dinner. Prices felt pretty fair for what you’re getting especially given how good the food and cocktails are. The standout for me was definitely the noodle dish super flavorful great texture and honestly something I’d go back just for. The cocktails were also excellent really well balanced and creative without being overly complicated. Absolutely love this restaurant! The hosts are so incredibly kind and despite how busy it is they are so professional and welcoming. The service was lovely and everyone is very knowledgeable. Got a mocktail that was delicious. Tried a bunch of dishes, the Lobster Bao was my favorite - as well as the curry dumplings. They had a special: Purple Uni with sides to make it a hand-roll. Highly recommend coming here!
