This is a very nice chicken place. They have the best fried chicken in town! They also have quite a selection of food and drinks you can try. The atmosphere is very nice and comfy. You can come here to get a meal, hang out with friends and family. The staff here are very friendly and helpful. It's very delightful here!!!
After visiting the Ark, we needed some lunch so headed downtown Cincinnati. Fried chicken was the days craving, so we found the Eagle Food and Bar downtown on Vine Street. Found a public parking place one block away. Atmosphere is classic bar type decor and has an older establishment vibe. We all decided to partake in the fried chicken as it is hard to find somewhere that does it right. The menu wasn’t overloaded with every type of meal- the focus is fried chicken! We ate a breast piece, 1/4 chicken and 1/2 meal. My family generally prefers dark meat and they wanted more. The breast piece was done perfectly but just wasn’t the favorite. On a return visit, we would focus on the dark meat meals. Side orders were coleslaw, Mac-n-cheese and collard greens. All good and filling. We ordered their spoon bread- think more cornbread. It was kind of the sweat part of the meal. No dessert options on the menu. It was nice to walk around the area after eating as well, so more to do than just eat here.

Overall the food was good. The chicken had unique flavor and almost like a cracker crust batter. I couldn’t pinpoint the other seasoning that was used, but I would order it again. I really enjoyed the Mac and cheese, as well. The server wasn’t too attentive, but the manager seemed nice.
Great chicken! Helpful staff. Will absolutely come back. Will have to try their famous Mac n Cheese next time. We had the sweet potato crock and the Southern chopped salad with our chicken with hot honey. The honey was spiced just right. Only note, not a complaint - we had reservations, but the place was nearly empty. The staff seemed a little confused as to where to seat us. They offered a booth, but found it was full of table prep gear, so they seared us at the front door. We moved to a table a little further from the open door on our own.
The Eagle was such a great restaurant! My husband and I were visiting Cincinnati for the Bengals game and we got snowed in! Our AirBnb was across the street from Eagle so we ended up having dinner there Saturday and Sunday. The drumsticks were amazing especially with the hot honey! The mac and cheese is one dish you must order, it was delicious! The Blackberry Lemonade and Bourbon Punch were perfect. The service is amazing and this place is a GEM!
