I stayed at this hotel for 30 days in December of 2025 while my wife was receiving cancer treatment at Karmanos cancer center. The location could not have been any better. It was the most impressive place that I have ever stayed at. The facility was first class. The meals, breakfast were fantastic and dinner restaurant was excellent as well. What made the hotel so exceptional was the people of the entire range of staff. Sincerely caring for me know that my wife was having some many challenges with her cancer treatment. The front desk was always checking with me on things they could do for me and were so deeply caring it really touched my soul. The entire staff for the breakfast restaurant not only provide great breakfasts but developed a caring relationship that also warmed my heart. My room was always very very clean along with the entire hotel. Everybody I encountered showed me so much care and compassion it will always leave a deep impression on me. The greatest hotel in the world.
Was there for a Red Wings game. Very convenient location. Easy 8 min walk to LCA, safe area. Front desk agent who checked me was nice. The valet parking was easy to use, well worth the price. We had trouble with our trunk & the valet was extremely helpful. Rooms were clean & spacious.

While most people are staying in hotels for moments like a fun vacation or a quick business trip, I unfortunately fell into a different and unexpected category of traveler - the traveler that is there for family when her mom was receiving intensive treatment for cancer over the span of a month. While it is not important to go into the details of that, it is relevant to this review in recognizing the hardships of being not only away from home in addition to challenging circumstances impacting your family for a lengthy period of time, and the importance of finding comfort when everything you’re experiencing is anything but. This stay gave me an even greater appreciation for hospitality workers and the opportunity they have to set this experience for their customers. Despite these challenging circumstances, the staff at this hotel did everything possible to help make me not only feel comfortable, but to help me feel at home. The hotel is set in a great location. For my purposes, it was closest to the hospital, but it’s also nearby a Q-Line stop that can get you downtown in minutes. The neighborhood has a selection of great restaurants ranging from casual to upscale, coffee shops, and convenience stores as well as a Whole Foods a block away. The restaurant located inside the hotel, The Conservatory, was also a delight. The DIA is within walking distance for art lovers. It’s also the perfect location for those looking to enjoy a Lions, Pistons, or Red Wings game. My stay was throughout the month of December so going downtown to Campus Martius and the holiday markets were easy to get to and enjoy. My only complaint is the parking situation - valet is a bit pricey and the nearby parking garage is not consistent with the pricing they advertise, but this is not the fault of the hotel and typical of other cities from personal experience. Nevertheless, the location of this hotel is ideal. The rooms are comfortable and have the amenities that we needed and enjoyed - TV, mini fridge, coffee maker, workspace, etc. My time there was throughout the month of December so I appreciated the holiday decorations throughout the lobby and the nice touches like warm apple cider at night, shower steamers and lavender sachets that were available to improve the comfort of my stay. From the housekeeping staff who made sure the room was spotless and the coffee and water were stocked daily, to the maintenance crew that quickly responded to a minor need - they were helpful, friendly, and efficient. Even in passing in the hallway, they always gave a warm smile and greeting. Where my greatest praises need to be directed are to the reception staff that were always welcoming and kind. They assisted my dad last minute to ensure that we would have another room on a weekend that was extremely busy because of events which inevitably booked up the hotel. They were always courteous and friendly, greeting me at every arrival and departure. They assisted me at times when I needed important documents printed without hesitation. However, the most important factor to me was the level in which they cared. Everyone I had the pleasure of interacting with was so friendly, but the two standouts of my experience were Diamond and Kiera who both possessed a level of care that went beyond customer service and to a level of making me feel just as if I was family. During a time when my family was experiencing difficult days and uncertainty, they both showed a level of compassion that I would never expect to find at a hotel. From the daily check-ins, their ability to listen, but also share their experiences, and the very much needed hugs. Diamond and Kiera, I am forever grateful for the ways in which you both created bright moments during such a dark time. While the circumstances of my stay were unusual, I feel compelled to share my gratitude to the many people at the AC hotel that made this experience memorable. I highly recommend this hotel and the many incredible people working together to create a warm and welcoming atmosphere regardless of the reason for your stay.
I took my mom to TSO and this hotel was the closest to the little ceasers arena being only 5 minutes away! We also took a Qline train which drops you off right in front of the Arena! The front lady (all of them) were wonderful! They were patient when we fell into issues, and were courteous when we needed help! The bartenders were also very sweet! They helped us not only for food around the area but also the menu on what item held! They also gave us samples of drinks we've never had before so we didn't have to buy a full drink if we didn't like it! Rio was a bartender that helped my boyfriend out trying to find something sweet for me (since Im not a drinker) "I love a challenge" Rio said and proceeded to make a drink perfectly describing the pallet my boyfriend wanted! I highly recommend this hotel they were very good to my family, and they were very nice when we were stuck and needed them most! I appreciate everything they did for us and I hope they have a beautiful work experience everyday!
Beautiful hotel. First floor is so beautiful with many quiet places to relax Great happy hour with delicious Tapas. Comfortable beds and spacious room with a view. Staff are all beyond nice. Valet were wonderful helping us when our fob battery died. Breakfast was a surprise and a great one. Needed: Bloody Mary’s for breakfast. Some people like mimosas or other. Very close to Detroit venues. And, pretty cool history with the connected Bonstelle Playhouse, formerly owned by Wayne State University and formerly a synagogue.
