Such a cute place, there were some quirky plumbing issues as if not done by a professional but we got it worked out. The place was VERY CLEAN and comfortable. There is an oddly placed unframed paper cat portrait in the bathroom... not sure that would live long in the Bumpus House but... there have been such cohabitations before. Just very out of place in size, placement and quality so it gave us pause. We definitely took advantage of the game and puzzle there.
Hi i was so happy to finally go see the Christmas story house last year me and my friend Shawn we always talked about going there for years well last year we went and I rented a one night stay at the bumpus house bottom floor well we were sleeping I got woken up by a load noise I heard a door squeaking I look in the kitchen I see the bathroom door slowly closing on it own with a shadow i had the bathroom light on all night I turn and see my friend sleeping on the other bed next to me I woke him up and we started walking to the bathroom I open the door and no one was there this was at 4am I never ever seen that before were my eyes caught a door slowly closing shut on its open I couldn't believe it so yea that house is haunted

We absolutely loved our visit !! We stayed on the main floor. The room was decorated perfectly for the time period. We laughed that the Bumpus house had tons of pictures of the Parker family and not the Bumpuses but that was the only flaw we could find. We talk about the great memories of our stay and we hope to go back. It's worth it to stay!!
It was a great time, we toured the Christmas house the next morning as well as the museum.
Getting to stay in the Bumpus house along with touring the Christmas Story house and museum was the highlight of our trip. We are definitely Christmas Story nerds so this was a dream come true. The stay in the house was awesome. We were able to watch the movie while we played the Christmas Story game. The property was extremely nice and very clean. Very tasteful vintage décor while still offering updated amenities. We had dinner & breakfast at the Rowley Inn across the street and it was some of the best food we had on our trip. We travelled over a thousand miles for this and it was so worth it. If you are a Christmas Story fan this needs to be on your list of must do things.
