We arrived at 3 and the museum closes at 5. This was not enough time for all of the exploring that we wanted to do. I would recommend at least another hour. The exhibits are well put together, with interesting, easy to read signage and distinct gallery spaces. They have an outdoor section with live animals and lots of places to sit and observe from. There are several interactive stations and touch points where you can interact with artifacts directly.
This is a fantastic museum. I went for my 46th birthday. I was an anthropology major in college but could not finish due to an illness. This was my first time seeing a dinosaur fossil in real life. I saw animals o didn't know existed. The otters were such a surprise. They even let me in for free because the ad I had was wrong. I was willing to pay but they honored the ad.

This museum was such a treat. It was elegant with nicely made exhibits. They are well marked with interesting information and several have interactive qualities that kids will enjoy. There are a couple of things you don't want to miss! First, if you have a chance to see a short show in the planetarium, do it! The host was knowledgeable and friendly and the program was really interesting. Second, don't forget to go outside and see the animals! Again, they had great information and the habitats seemed well made, providing environments for the animals that will keep the animals engaged and happy. We parked in the attached parking garage. The convenience was worth the money so we didn't have to search for parking in an area we were unfamiliar with. There are other nearby tourist spots too so you can make a day of it. The parking garage connects directly to the museum so wheelchair accessibility is a given. And the museum itself has plenty of space for maneuvering between exhibits. Restrooms were clean and conveniently located. Staff were friendly and helpful.
WOW! I've been a member for years. Starting supporting CMNH when they were going through construction. Finally visited today. This is one of the best natural history museums in the country. Mostly contained on 1 incredible floor. Staff is really wonderful. Jazzy is so so nice! They have a section with live animals, including a bald eagle. Balto is here! Lucy! Must-do. The whole campus is fantastic!
The Cleveland Museum of Narural History has been a staple of the city for 100 years and its latest renovation has made a destination of the city. There is plenty for kids and adults at the museum from large scale dinosaurs and taxidermy to interactive playgrounds. For the basic entry price you will be able to go into all of the galleries. But with some up charges you can watch a 3D movie and the planetarium show. Parking is very convenient here with an attached garage with pretty reasonable rates.
