Desert Botanical Garden is a well laid out desert garden experience. There is a lot of signage for directions and explanations of plants. I just happen to be here in the summer so expect the heat. The gardens close between 1pm and 5 pm during peak temperatures in the summer. However, your paid entry price in the morning will allow you to return in the evening. Just keep the receipt. During the summer, there is an “after dark” shimmering light display along some paths. The gardens also offer an on site restaurant “Gertrude’s” and a gift shop. This is a great place for Botanical garden enthusiasts.
One of the best botanical gardens I’ve had the pleasure of experiencing. Went on a Wednesday evening, bought tickets there, no wait. Well maintained, friendly check in, and rich in wild life…. I loved seeing all the different kinds of cacti and plants. Saw bunnies, snakes, roadrunners, and many kinds of birds. Sunset was absolutely beautiful and loved seeing how the plants lit up at night. So beautiful. I will be visiting again!

Absolutely loved our morning at Desert Botanical Garden. We went around 8:00 AM to beat the Arizona heat, and it was the perfect time to walk the trails, take photos, and really enjoy the peaceful desert scenery. The variety here is amazing. There were so many cactus, succulents, desert flowers, and Sonoran Desert plants to look at. I saw aloe vera flowering, pomegranates growing, and beautiful red fairy dusters, which made the garden feel so vibrant and alive. I also loved how much wildlife we saw. We spotted hares, lizards, bees, birds, and butterflies throughout the garden. Every trail felt like it had something different, and it made the whole visit feel peaceful, colorful, and magical. This is such a beautiful place for photos, videos, nature walks, and anyone visiting Phoenix who wants to experience the desert in a real way. I would definitely recommend bringing water, sunscreen, comfortable shoes, and your camera. Five stars. This is one of those Arizona spots that locals and visitors should experience at least once.
Beautiful setting. A bit pricey considering you're walking around the same scenery after awhile but it is beautiful and I'm sure the costs are up there. I'd recommend booking ahead of time on their website to reserve a spot. Gretchen's restaurant (on site) smelled amazing too! The park also has a nice little gift shop
I got a culture pass from the library for free admission. I visited in the evening during the hot summer. Going just before sunset was perfect. Absolutely beautiful and well kept, stunning, unique, and educational. Wonderful music (it was Latin night). I am so happy I made the trip out and that I was able to get a ticket. They have water stations throughout the garden so you can stay hydrated. They have nice places to sit and some indoor cooling areas. I loved seeing the wildlife run around the gardens. So cute!!!
