Darrell was an absolute professional from start to finish. He responded quickly, showed up when he said he would, and clearly knows his trade inside and out. He upgraded my main electrical panel and completed the meter grounding, cold water grounding, and bonding with exceptional attention to detail. Quality workmanship is extremely important to me, and Darrell exceeded my expectations. Everything was done cleanly, professionally, and fully code compliant, which gave me a lot of confidence in the work. It's not easy to find someone who takes this much pride in their craftsmanship. If you're looking for an honest, knowledgeable electrician who does things the right way the first time, I highly recommend Darrell and Sims & Sons Electric and Plumbing. I had Sims & Sons come in to install the lighting at my shop, Nexo Barber Shop, and their work was excellent. They handled every part of the project, from running all the wiring to setting up the fixtures perfectly. The shop looks brighter, cleaner, and more professional now. They came out with no other electrician would, we had multiple code violations on our building. We just bought a multi unit building in Chicago by the Sauganash area. They did a 200 amp upgrade with multiple meters new panels and rewired all three floors separated all of the public onto the public panel. We passed inspection on the first try the inspectors even complimented Darrell and said that they knew he does good work so I was completely sold at that moment that I was in great hands throughout, but that’s what sealed the deal. We have properties in Skokie and in Park Ridge and we just got a property in Chicago that they will be doing all of our electrical plumbing in particular we have panels and a couple electric vehicle chargers that we will need and they got our business hands-down the best in Chicago.
I reached out to Sims and Sons after a quick google. After putting in for an estimate, I received a call the following day and face timed with Darren. A minute in a knew I had the write company. It's was so nice to actual talk with a real person and not just an automated robot voice. Look story short, Sims and Son arrived and where top notch. And very flexible with scheduling/timing/etc. Would use again and recommend them.
Darrell (owner) walked me through a simple light switch electrical issue over the phone saving me time and money. He took almost a half hour out of his weekend just to help me at no charge. A lot of places would have simply sent their team out, fixed the issue in 3 minutes and then left me with a large bill. Darrell is legit, friendly, and made it easy + safe for a guy like me with little electrical knowledge. If I ever have a larger issue that requires someone to come in person, I for sure will call Sims & Sons and gladly pay for their service. Thanks again Darrell!
