My first time visiting Freedom Park. It was a cloudy/cool day and they are in the middle of a pond reconstruction project but this by far a really nice park. A big loop around the pond with many paths and benches / picnic tables to choose from. It’s very lively with the ducks and turtles. I’m guessing they do concerts in the middle but I’m not too sure. I also enjoy reading the signs they have posted around the park about the history of the park and the surrounding area.
Wow what a gorgeous well kept up park. Definitely recommend anyone to come here and enjoy the views, the atmosphere and make memories with family and friends. Being from out of state from the parking that we saw that was available is very limited and had to wait about 10mins for a spot to open. Some people unfortunately park in the ♿️ spot when their more than able to walk.

I've been coming to this park for about 6 years now. Most of the improvements have been positive, but recently they closed off the island for safety. I don't know, after 2020 I just don't trust a lot of crap like that. Anyways, when it is operating for usual, this place is fantastic. The kids enjoy the sights and sounds, the train, the playground, the swings, the water, and just a nice place to do some walking. The river's pretty cool too.
I remember what it was like as a kid, and now it’s so sad. The pond is dirty and an odd color blue, even though they keep the ducks away. There is so much opportunity to make this great but it fell short and space to fill. The play 60 thing was cool but some parts didn’t work. When we went the grass wasn’t even kept up and there was construction so you couldn’t go all the way around the pond. If you’re thinking of going don’t!
very peaceful. absolutely stunning. been walking thru the past 3 days and plan on continuing while I'm in Charlotte have not driven here yet walked from hospital less than a mile.
